More about Pineta Park Marmaris

Pineta Park Deluxe Hotel

by TripAdvisor Member babygir1

Stayed there 7th August 2006 til 14th august 2006.

Hotels rooms- great...carpeted floors, fridges, airconditioning, free safety deposit boxes, tv with some sat channels. baths with shower...beds were comfortable and sheets were changed daily, plenty of towels which were again changed daily. Nice size balcony with chairs n table and a double bar for hanging ur wet towels out to dry. They even provided Dove Shower gel and shampoo above the bath and Dove hand wash at the sink.

Restaurant-Fair ....The food provided was of a good standard and the restaurant was spotlessly clean. The waiters very attentive, some of them abit too attentive which was off putting, how many times do u have to refuse someones advances before they get the message? Lots of salad dishes, lots of sweet spongey cakes for pudding. I wasnt impressed by the hot dishes, outside they had chicken roasting and chips which was lovely but you had to be early as they only roasted 50 chickens and once they were gone they were gone. First few days i enjoyed the food but by about the fourth day i was fed up of chicken/chips/salad. for lunch and dinner. Breakfasts were ok, eggs either boiled/scrambled or fried most mornings. fresh bread/toast plenty of fruit n jams/honey/cheese/cold meat. After a few days the food got quite monotonous so we did spend the last few days eating out which was dirt cheap!! £1.50 for a full english breakfast for example.

Snacks inbetween lunch and dinner consisted of hambugers hotdogs and chips which was great for my son.

Reception area was very impressive with glass lifts and leather sofas.

Pool area- VERY POOR...... the lack of sunbeds caused a big problem with things getting regularly heated due to the staff sometimes removing towels from beds. It was all so inconsistent. There was one handwritten sign on a board which was sometimes displayed at ONE entrance to pool < there was several entrances to pool so if you didnt enter by that one entrance you didnt get to see the sign> They were supposed to removed the towels at 7.30am and then again at 11am as you had people coming home from the niteclubs at 5am and putting their towels out to reserve a sunbed but not using them til they woke at 2pm, or reserving sunbeds and then going out on a daytrip. The problem with this was that they very rarely removed the towels at 7.30am and if they did remove any at this time it was the odd towel. At 11am they sometimes cleared a few beds. One poor man had only gone to check out and bring his cases down to the luggage room and got back to find his towel removed. The pools were lovely but not suitable for children as they were 1.58metres deep. I'm 5ft7 and could just about touch the floor on tip toes. The childrens pool was small and really only suitable for babies. They really need to sort the sunbed situation out to stop it gettin out of hand. It put a real spoiler on the whole holiday constantly having to fight n search for a sunbed, they were like golddust!

Entertainment- Poor ...... the hotel entertainers were lovely! very nice boys who worked hard at trying to get people to join their pool games but didnt hassle you if you didnt want to join in. They also did the kids disco in the evenings which was held in the amphitheatre which was filthy so dont wear anything nice. My son loved it but basically it was the same 6 songs every evening, music man, birdie song, agadoo and the hotel club dance etc. After the kids disco came the adult entertainment which was extremely amateur, poor guys had very little in the way of props,
it was so bad that you basically found yourself laughing at yourselves out of shock that you were actually sitting watching it in the first place. They really need to get a few professional acts sorted. The boys< and one girl> were lovely tho!

Drinks- plenty of soft drinks during the day/night. Alcohol really consisted of only draught lager , red or white wine, vodka, gin and raki. Anything else forget it. I'm not a big drinker so was not bothered with the lack of alcohol.

Just outside the hotel every evening was the artisan street which was a whole street of little stalls selling there goods Very nice for a wander and real friendly people my son was given a necklace as a present for picking up something that had fallen on the floor.

The Emporium ala carte just outside the hotel had lovely food, although we were told we were supposed to qualify for a 15% discount on food due to being a resident but we didnt get this discount. The food was gorgeous here.

Diana bar again just outside the hotel, the boys here were brilliant! they made you feel so welcome and special! Food here was also lovely.
My last night a few of the guys took a few of us down to Bar Street clubbing. They really looked after us and didnt hassle us or hit on us ....they were very sweet guys! They do self catering 2 bedroom apartments here which we are gonna try on our next visit.

Shopping is wonderful hehe... fake everything! 5 pairs of shoe for £10.... my son loved the fact that he could get 5 gameboy games for £20
10 fake tshirts for £10 and von dutch/dior hats and sunglasses galore. Guggi handbags etc etc etc endless shopping!! being a shopaholic i was loving it hehe.

Weather fantastic, very hot but a lovely breeze.

Overall i loved Turkey and Marmaris and cant wait to visit again . I chose a 5* all inclusive hotel as i didnt know what to expect being my first visit. Next time i will be staying self catering!!

I recommend the Diana bar which is next to the Pineta park hotels, Jez will look after you! get him to tell you his "horse" joke hehe Tell him Jayne not Tarzan says hello and will see him and the gang soon!

My son is 8yrs old and we are regular travellers, i found marmaris lovely and the people of marmaris extremely friendly and kind, nothing was too much trouble.

Cant wait to return!!

pineta park not delux

by TripAdvisor Member dandy05

we have not long returned from the pineta and although we were sorry to leave turkey, we were more than greatful to leave the pineta. first impressions on arriving at the hotel lobby were very nice . then the fun began. we had booked a family room for four but when we got there we were given two seperate rooms. each with a double bed. my boys are thirteen and three and there was no way on this earth that we were gonna put them in a room on there own. my husband and myself were gonna take a child each..........but the rooms were not even close to each other. oh yeh and the rooms........dont be conned by the pics in the brochures as these are the rooms from the pineta delux not the pineta park. the rooms in the pineta are just one small room. when we returned to hotel reception to ask for a family room as we had booked we were told that they could not do anything untill the following thursday as they were fully booked........this was sunday. so we asked for a single bed to be put in one room so we could all be in the same room. they said they could do this for us, so we left them to it and went for something to eat.
the restaurant,,,,,,,,if thats what you would call it was packed to the seams with a rather large, no sorry, huge queue. if you like chips and lots of salad you will get on just fine but as for everything else thats on over, i wouldnt give that slop to my dog.
the flies certainly like the food. yeh there is plenty of flies in pineta too. dont put ya drink down cos within seconds there will be three, four or more flies crawling around the top of your glass within seconds.
when we returned to our room, they had kept there promise and put a single bed in there. wow, how cosey. we couldnt move. we couldnt even open the wardrobe doors now but what the hell we were all together.
the hotel complex is not to bad. they have two outdoor swimming pools and one indoor. they also have a kids club with great kids entertainers.........who of which, god love them dont sleep. talk about work for ya money. there is also a games room, if ya lucky ya might get the pool table with out rips in it, a hair dressers and a mini super market were the staff are so so friendly.
anyway, if ya have booked to go to the pineta i hope i havnt put a damper on your holiday but you have a right to know what to exspect. but marmaris is a great place and the turks are lovely friendly people with nothing at all being a problem to them. we had three main places for eating.........the cosy corner, which does a lovely english breakfast and is served with a smile....the three brothers, lovely bunch of lads but if you go there and they like you, dont try to walk past cos it wont happen lol you will be in there like a shot.......and our favourite vangoffs restaurant, were you will have one of there most wonderful meals. the guys are lovely the food is lovely and the prices here and every were else are great.....and they are all in walkin distance from the pineta.
this review is about pineta park not pineta park delux......oh and by the way, we didnt get a family room..... :-( family from liverpool.

great holiday

by TripAdvisor Member BOOTIE

Just returned from two fantastic weeks at the Pineta Park deluxe.
What a greta place, food fantastic(Don't expect english food)
Clean friendly and helpful staff who will do almost anything for you.
too many unsupervised kids at times but that is not the hotels fault
Clean rooms and towels daily or not if you put up your do not disturb sign.

go to the emporium restaurant full english for 1.50gbp. Fantastic food at all other times. The staff are wonderful and you can watch the football to your hearts content!!!!!

Do Not confuse this with the Pineta Club

god help you

Well after reading some of the bad coments and a few good we booked.
My god the food was awfull the accomadation 2nd rate and the cleanliness of the rooms terrible. Had bad tummy after eating cold food from tea plates. We ended up eating out at extra cost so if you go do not have all inclusive just use as room to sleep. The only plus is the gardens and pools are nice.
will go to turkey again as country is great for hols. Same pineta park cannot match the frendliness of locals and excellent food served in restuarants. I have been in better youth hostels and works canteens. God help you if you try this at best one star hotel.
best wishes John and Sue from Bristol

Fantastic value for money

by TripAdvisor Member kellyuk21

Stayed at the pineta park at the beginning of September. 4 of us went to couples 25 -30 year old. We found the food fantastic, only struggled one lunch time to find something to eat. Different food everyday not pizza and chips tho.... turkish dishes and you can try everything and if you dont like it, doesnt matter... we managed to get the chicken everyday if we wanted it... The turkish night was brilliant for food.... fresh kebabs...pittas cooked infront of you... quote "best doner kebab, ever eaten"...

The entertainment wasnt that great although we didnt have kids so didnt pay that much attention, drinks were great, the lager was weak but the vodka def wasnt....

we all managed to get a sunbed everyday and we didnt go down to the pool till 11.30 ish... just have to do a few walks round the pool... the pools were great and very clean, abit to deep to play in tho....

We thought the hotel was def great value for money and a week was just enough, I think the people who find the food repetitive are the people there for a fortnight. My opinion is that it would get repetitive wherever you stopped...

The location of the hotel is great, 5 minute walk from the main strip where you can catch a dolmus to old town and bar street. We preferred the area near centre point... where the karoke bars and irish pub is.... a lot cheaper and much more fun than bar street ... Bar street is very expensive and more for 18 - 25 year olds and not an English person insight....

Oh yeah... don't take your teenage daughters, the turks are such letchs....we have never seen so many overweight, older women with 20 year old boys.... be careful if your a group of girls... the turks are def not fussy....

Would def go to marmaris again and to the Pineta Deluxe although we'd like to try out the Ibero Star - Grand Azur...that looked amazing..

Hotel was 4* but the food was not and very limited choice

by TripAdvisor Member LindaScott

We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children ages 13 and 11. We stayed at the Pineta Park Delux Hotel in Marmaris from 8th October to 15th October 2006. After the 2 hour bus ride from Dalaman Airport we were glad to arrive at our destination, atfirst glance the hotel looks amazing and the reception is lovely. The person at reception was serviing 4 families at once which was a bit annoying, we got our room key which was on the 5th floor and found the family room spacious and very clean, we also had a pool view. We will definately be getting two connecting rooms the next time we go on holiday due to our children being older because there is no privacy at all and the room is small for 4 people. We have been on numerous all inclusive holidays and found this to be the worst of them all, the food was very limited choice and pretty much the same each day, if you did not go early enough to get dinner what was put out was all they had and if you missed something they did not re-fill dishes. We were sitting in the lounge having a drink and on 4 occassions at midnight the lights were turned off while we were sitting there. The entertainment is non existent and the entertainers do there best but have no resourses and its really the holiday makers that are the entertainment. The hotel is also a bit of a walk away from the marina, about 45 mins. Over all we found the hotel to be very clean but not that great for us. Although you make your own holiday however I do feel that they could have made more of an effort where the food was concerned and also the entertainment. This was our first time in Turkey and we wont be rushing back.

Hell Hole

Travel Dates 29th September 2006– 14th October 2006

PLEASE DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS HOTEL AND PLEASE DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON MARMARIS IF YOU LIKE A BEACH HOLIDAY IT SIMPLY DOESN’T HAVE ANY TO SPEAK OF.

The Pineta Park Deluxe is not by any definition a 4* deluxe described on websites as such and we feel that this is misleading. It may aspire to it in looks and décor but sadly is lacking in food and drink quality, service and management.

Where to start?

The Airline XL - they were disgraceful and we will be writing to them separately. The plane was dirty, the seats were extremely worn and some of the seats didn’t even go in the upright position, the seat pitch was so small that it was extremely uncomfortable for me at 5’ 4” let alone my partner is who some 5 inches taller. The return journey – a 3 hour delay at Dalaman because the aircraft wasn’t fitted with equipment to allow it to land in fog – the Thomas Cook flight to Stanstead managed to take off on time! We will NEVER fly on this airline again. Although due to low number on the return journey we had row to ourselves so could stretch out so no complaints on the return!!

Arrival – We were put in a room directly above a generator that ran non-stop. Having arrived at 6am we slept with the aid of ear plugs for about 4 hours and then immediately requested a move. We were put in a room on the opposite side of the building and 3 floors up (see photo 1). However, we discovered with the aid power cuts on the very same evening of our arrival that we’d been put in a room above the emergency generator.

Room - We had to call maintenance as soon as we got into this room, the plug in the bath was stuck (not the plastic type but a wind down contraption - the maintenance man turned up with a new showerhead!) the lock on the balcony didn’t work and had to be fixed, the balcony barrier was loose and the air con vent hanging off the ceiling.

The maids did not come until around 5.30pm by which time we were back in the room having showers etc ready for the evening so really wasn’t practicable, and when they did actually service the room the only way we realised they had been in was a new toilet roll and towels, NOTHING else was done which explains why the dust accumulated to the degree it did (see photo help)

Huge stains on the carpet of goodness knows what (see photo urghhh), we didn’t feel we could walk around without something on our feet, mould around the bath (see photo bleurh) and generally not very clean. Ripped sheets and bed coverings (photo rag and bone) and thread bare towels.

This is supposed to be a deluxe hotel, my partner stayed in a Campanile hotel (similar to travel lodge in style) with work in Monza, Italy and is far superior to the Pineta Park and doesn’t profess to be a 4* Deluxe hotel.

Food (or otherwise known as slop) – DISGUSTING! Extremely limited choice, vile, salty and extremely low quality, pretty much inedible, I subsisted on bread, boiled eggs at breakfast, salad and chips (when they were on) at other meals. PLEASE PLEASE if you have a medical conditions which requires a low sodium diet DON’T eat the slop.

Service – unfriendly, didn’t get a hello, a smile or even an acknowledgement that you were even there. No information was given on where things were in the hotel and we left to find our way round by ourselves.

Drinks – watered down rubbish, alcohol (you expect a little bit but not to this extent) if you’d have wanted to get even a little merry it would be extremely hard. Soft drinks, disgusting and watered down so much that they may as well have just served water and the fact that they were served in disposable plastic cups was just laughable – this is not what one expects from a 4* hotel anywhere in the world!

Pool – No where near enough sun loungers - there were a lot of people pushing wicker chairs together so they could sunbathe. We only had a sun lounger once in the 3 days in the late afternoon after deciding to go out for the morning as we couldn’t get a lounger first thing. We only obtained two because we complained to the reception and asked if some of the loungers from the indoor pool could be moved outside (no one used the ones inside) that two appeared but not from the indoor pool area as we were told in no uncertain terms that this could not be done. Music blaring all day long, the so called animation team squirting you with water if you don’t want to play one of their stupid games, I don’t go on holiday for this, if you do then this is the place for you. If we want to join in we will but we don’t want to be bombarded constantly thank you. The description says two pools, well technically there are but they are only separated by a path which people sunbathe on (not enough sunbeds!) so it’s impossible to walk over. And the childrens pool, don’t be fooled it’s a tiny round splash pool no bigger than approx 2-3m2 with about ankle deep water.

Grounds – THERE ARE NONE – the description mentions well tended gardens, no it was a patch of grass cordoned off with a few plants!

Lifts - often not working in the 3 days we were there each time we used one lift we would end up having to call the 2nd one because it constantly broke, not to much of an issue for us as we are able bodied however for someone of limited mobility it could be extremely frustrating.

Cleanliness in the public areas left a lot to be desired (again see photo oops missed again), I wrote clean me into the dust on this table (by the lifts on the third floor) on day two and took the photo on the 4th day on our way out to check out and move to another hotel.

We are by no means pernickety people, we have stayed in much more basic hotels and had a wonderful time with no complaints whatsoever, but what we do expect is basic things that we pay for on holiday, a clean hotel, food you can actually eat and when the hotel is not close to a decent beach access to a sun lounger without having to get up at the crack of dawn to secure one, which we have never had to do at any other hotel we have stayed at.

We were quite shocked at the number of people who without prompting stated what a [--] hole it was, and the food was disgusting, when someone was querying a bill they also stated what a dump it was and they couldn’t wait to go home and this when we’d only been there less than a day! Even when we were talking to the Vision Rep getting our move sorted a gentleman was at reception complaining about the maid service and dumped a pile of towels on the desk! They can’t or won’t tell you how much they charge for phoning from your room phone – a lady was asking for this information when we were at reception (seemed to spend a lot of time there!) but all they kept saying they didn’t know as it was automatically charged!

And Finally!
Travel Agent - Vision Holidays (they are found on the Web and Teletext) – Well what a MISTAKA TO MAKA! When we decided to change hotels because we simply could not bring ourselves to WASTE two weeks at the dump, we ended up having to ring the office in the UK as no one answered at the local office, when the local office rang us back they were extremely rude and wouldn’t let me get a word in edgeways and speak and shouted at me to the point where I had to hand the phone to my partner. The British rep who came over to speak to us, was a little more helpful at the time, as our rep was at the airport and sent us to look at two hotels the Mirage hotel in Iclemer (which was one of her hotels) being the one we chose, which although it wasn’t of a standard that we paid for originally at least we could get a sun lounger and the food was on the whole a little bit of an improvement. However, we never saw or heard from her again, not even to check that everything was OK – would have been nice to have even just dropped a note into the hotel if she didn’t have time to actually speak to us!

We were charged £80 extra plus the cost of the dolmus (6ytl) to view the hotel (Mirage World) and 17ytl for a taxi to move to a lesser hotel. We booked a 4* deluxe hotel but spent our holiday in a 4* basic hotel in which we ended up in yet another noisy room right by the service area of the hotel being woken up every morning at 6am by the bin men – we by this point were resigned to the fact that the holiday was already ruined and having packed and unpacked 3 times in as many days we just couldn’t be bothered to move rooms again and made the best of it. The food although much improved from the Pineta Park was still not of a very good standard and often cold and were resigned to the worst holiday of our life courtesy of Vision holidays. We left a very candid review with the hotel on our departure on these points.

We consider ourselves fair people and gave Vision Holidays deadline of 6th November giving them around 2 weeks, to respond to us to give them a chance to address our problems and at least address the concerns. However, we received the reply on the 10th and the letter dated the 8th, so obviously we were an extremely low priority in the scheme of things for one and secondly basically fobbed off everything that we complained about, (for those sites which don’t support photo’s please see www.tripadvisor.co.uk) where I will upload as soon as I can and the actual letter from Vision (if I can find it that is!)

We asked for at least a partial refund but the letter we received refusing point blank to even entertain a refund and basically said we were lying about the state of the place and that people were happy staying there (well not the 4 people in 3 days we spoke to) that they did not agree with us on any of our points even though we sent copies of our photo’s to them and even had the audacity to say they hoped we book with them again in future – WHEN HELL FREEZES OVER.

This was my 5th trip to Turkey since 1996 and my partners 4th since 2001 and we have never had a problem with any other hotels prior to this; a 3 star hotel in Gumbet was far superior to the Pineta Park!

4* ‘official rating’ IT IS A DISGRACE. The fact that we even asked how much it would cost us to fly home after just 3 days speaks volumes as to how bad this hotel actually is.

We travel abroad at least twice a year and my partner travels with his work and we can safely say that this was the Holiday from Hell; we have never had to resort to writing a 3 page complaint letter and providing photographic evidence about anything let alone a holiday that we ended up paying over £1000 for, we could have gone to a much better hotel for this money in the first instance.

Marmaris as a resort

Beaches – Rubbish and this is know joke, they look like building rubble has been crushed and dumped by the sea to create a beach.

Restaurants – we cannot comment on these as we never went to any of them.

Bars – We only went out once in Marmaris and had a very good night! The bars along the marina are quite pleasant and not to pricey – about 3.5 ytl for a large bottle of Efes. However,
Bar Street – RUBBISH really – it’s the street behind the Marina, a couple of dance type clubs (open air) but the prices are astronomical compared to the marina – 8 ytl for a stumpy type bottle of Efes in one bar, 8 ytl for a bottle the size of Becks in another. So a round of drinks in the Marina came to 14 ytl and a round in Bar Street was 32 ytl – rip off!

Overall we wouldn’t recommend Marmaris for a holiday, Icemler was 100% better. Don’t be put off going to Turkey it can be a fantastic place to go, which was why we kept going back but Marmaris has seriously disappointed us and if this had been our first experience then no we wouldn’t go back ever again. If you do want to go to Turkey then please do your research and unless you are on a seriously strict budget DON’T go all inclusive, the food is fantastic and not expensive. For instance we had a 2 course meal and around 4-5 drinks and it came to a few pence over £20 (paid by credit card and a 2.70 exchange rate!) We have been to Turkey all inclusive in the past however the standards seem to have changed and you simply don’t get the value that you did 3 years or so ago. For example Fuerteventura in 2005 we stayed at a 3* (brand new hotel) and the food smoked salmon and caviar (not beluga of course well not for £250 each for a week!), drink – hardly watered down if at all and the service was fantastic although the entertainment left a lot to be desired as provided and geared towards the Italians –now you won’t get that in Turkey even at a 5*.

I apologise for not posting sooner but I’ve been extremely busy and have only just had the chance to upload this and if I am able to upload photo's after I've submitted I will if not I will load them separately if allowed.

As a parting comment – RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH – I didn’t do as much this time about the hotel and place but I won’t be making that mistake again.

Bon Voyage!

not the best

by TripAdvisor Member jeffrice

We stayed at the hotel in august 2006, The hotel was on first immpesion very impressive, the reception area in particular was spectacular and very clean.
Our room was very smart upon entering however we were let down by the poor standard of cleaning of the hotel room.
The selection of food was good but the food was never more than luke warm and we know a few people as well as myself who suffered a tummy upset because of this.
The pool area was littered with broken sunbeds and if you did not get down to the pool area for 7am you would not get one as they all had towels on them.,
We atayed on all inclusive basis and although we are not big drinkers the choice of cocktails and shorts were limited to vodka , gin and red and white wine. We would be reluctant to stay at this hotel again untill conditions noticabley improve.

we loved it

Great hotel, please read!

by TripAdvisor Member The_King_Monkey

What a brilliant holiday. Me (19) and my mate (18) stayed there from the 11th-24th October and thought it was brilliant. The only thing I found faulty about the hotel was the beer because it doesn't get you drunk and it tastes a bit sour, which many were complaining about. The good news is it is a pils drink for those suffering with Diabetes. The shorts that were available tasted quite nice though!

First views of the hotel when I got off the bus was ranked high. The place looks really clean, really tidy and really well run. The staff are friendly and the fact you don't have to lug your luggage around is helpful - god bless the bellboy!

One thing I would like to know though, is what do the people who write the reviews moaning about the food expect to eat? There is plenty of choice throughout the dining area and snack bar in the afternoon which includes Chicken, chips, spaghetti, hot dog, burger and about 400 different kinds of salads. Ignore the hatred about the food, there is plenty of stuff, and they adjust to all walks of life and all nationalities.

Quite a few have said that there holiday was boring because of no entertainment. Simple solution - EXPLORE MARMARIS!! If you want to go to Marmaris you can either get a taxi for 12 leira or you can walk in a straight line down the main road (full of shops and stuff) or down by the beach (where you will find all of your bars and pubs etc...) Then when you hit marmaris you find all of this combined except twice as better.

The hotel also offers free pool and table tennis, but when your playing please remember that it isn't just your hotel and others have paid for the privlidge so don't be selfish and hog the table all day. Another good thing is that you can get the days paper on that day rather than a day later - they arrive at 1 o clock! The hotel also has tennis courts, which many people play football on when its not being used for tennis.

Make sure you lot check out the Diana bar about 5 meters down the road, you can't miss it. Absolute brilliant place and the lads in there are sound. We had a brilliant holiday and would definetly consider going back. If you are going for a lads holiday this hotel would be perfect for ya.

Hi, I am going to marmaris on he 15th October and staying at the Pineta Park Deluxe Hotel. Has anyone stayed there as I have read a few bad reports. Also I would like to know what the expected temperature will be like as I was hoping to get a tan.

Re: weather

This may be helpful for the weather part of your question

Re: weather

by snoopyfox

hi we went late October in 2005 the day time temps were high 60s and 70s bit chilly at night so you'll maybe need a cardi, post pics if you get a tan

Just came back.

by PaulDFord

The pineta Park is situated nearer icmeler. You would need to go on Holiday Watchdog, that'll give you an idea. If your fully inclusive you're stuck. If its as a base then its a good base. Look particularly at last months Holiday watchdog.

Re: weather

by technot
