WHERE TO STAY?

There were so many places to stay in Goreme but I stayed in the Tuna Caves. I shared one of the cave dorms which was great because it was very cheap and there are so many ledges where you can put your things. Outside in the courtyard were tables and a sofa round the open fire which was needed at night when it gets cold. There was a terrace upstairs for drying clothes and playing games in the sun. There is breakfast (my favourite remaining the french toast - delicious) in the morning. The hostel is an easy walk straight into the heart of the village, the guys who run the hostel also do walking trips every other day which gave me the chance to be adventurous and see some of the famous painted cave churches, meet some locals and take some amazing pictures. We were lucky during our stay to be invited to join in local wedding celebrations happening just down the street.
