My husband and I stayed in both the double room and the dorm rooms. It was a wonderful place. The proprietor Isa is helpful at every level. While we were there, he was great at making suggestions and just really helpful. He doesn't care if he makes a commission, he just lays out options and lets you decide. We are normally a bit skeptical, and this was no exception, but each thing we checked online, or onsite was either more expensive or the cost he was showing.
Unique Quality: The rooms are caves. Showers are hot. Convenient location.
When i was in Göreme i stayed at Shoestring Cave Pension. My first trip to Göreme was in march 2004 then i went to Göreme in May again.
As i follow the recommendations of the Lonely Planet i checked couple of pensions mentioned in the book but then i decided to stay at Shoestring.
i paid 5.5 million or 5.5 new Turkish Liras-4$-for a bed in the dormitory rooms.Rooms were crowded but it was really fun to stay in a rock cave.
Briefly,i loved the place it was really comfortable and full of fun.
