More about Flintstones Cave Hotel and Pension

Shoestring Cave Pension, Göreme

by MalenaN

Shoestring is a good backpackers place with a nice courtyard where you have breakfast, relax and chat with other travellers. The rooms are nice caverooms with carpets on the wall and confortable beds.
I paid 10 000 000 TL for a room with bathroom. There is also a doorm for 5,5 milj.
Breakfast is not included in the price but cost 3 000 000 TL extra (4 for the yoghurt, honey and fruit breakfast). There are many different breakfasts to chose from.
Shoestring has got a laundry service, can pick you up when you arrive in Nevshir and organises tours, for example to the Ilhara Valley.

Göreme Hotel!

by ateach52 about Kelebek Cave Pension

In my opinion, this is certainly one of the BEST places to stay in Cappadocia. It is located in Göreme, an ideal small town from which to explore the entire region. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful and the views are magnificent. Some of the rooms are located in the fairy chimneys and others in Ottoman style rooms which were once the owner's family home. Some of the rooms have en-suite bathrooms, others don't. The hotel overlooks the village of Göreme, and breakfast (or lunch) can be taken on the sunny roof-top terrace. It was also pure joy to sit on the stacks of cushions piled up on the terrace platform after dinner, sipping a glass of red wine and admiring the lights below. Don't confuse Kelebek Pension with Kelebek Suites. The latter is actually located right behind the pension, two steps away, and overlooks the Pigeon Valley. The accommodation is perhaps a bit fancier. Although some of its rooms are also partially carved out of the rocky cave walls, others have balconies and even jacuzzis and there's also a garden! I preferred the pension, though, as staying in a fairy chimney was just so very different from anything I'd experienced before. Prices at the pension ranged between 25 euros (no bathroom, cave room without a window) to 75 euros. Our room (No. 4) was in a fairy chimney, had a small window, tiny en-suite (but modern) bathroom, lovely Anatolian furnishings and cost 45 euros for two with breakfast (a buffet affair with plenty of yoghurt, fruit, bread, cheese etc)
