Hisar Evi Hotel: Flintstones' lifestyle...

We decided to try the Fred + Wilma approach, and stay in a cave hotel. It certainly was different!

We also ate 2 lunches and 2 dinners at the hotel - excellent homestyle Anatolian food. My Turkish friend raved about it, especially the furunda mantu (a pasta dish).

Downside was getting bitten on leg by manager's Doberman - totally unprovoked, and I was very lucky I was wearing jeans.

Unique Quality: The rooms are carved into the rock. Feels weird, but a real novelty. It means a lack of windows and natural light, but a nice even temperature and no need for aircon.

Hotel has a great terrace overlooking the castle.
