Otel 57: One of the regulars

Otel 57 is one of the standard hotels on the seashore of Sinop. There are several hotels with more or less the same quality and we chose this one randomly. The rooms were OK and the breakfast was fine.

They have new air-cons which are essential in Sinop as it gets very humid in summer time.

Cheap hotels

There are lots of fairly cheap hotels just inside the city walls, a short walk form the bus station...however, we found accommodation with a teacher, who offered us the use of his flat. We met him by accident, and were initially wary, as it was clear that it wasn't a hotel, but he was friendly enough, and told us he would be busy all weekend, so the flat was ours if we wanted it. In fact it turned out to be a very good arrangement...we had our own set of keys, and the owner left us to our own devices! The price was much the same as we had been paying elsewhere for a hotel...and it seemed about right.
