 | Macka Reviews | Tips 1 - 1 of 1 | | We stayed there one night, traveling in a rented car out of Trabzon, while visiting Sumela. The room was fine, though it had one of those showers that basically gets the entire bathroom floor wet--no problem with hot water. The staff of both the hotel and restaurant were great. Beds were comfortable, and it was cool, but there were some bugs--bring insect repellant. We stayed on the half board plan and had a great dinner. Due to a misunderstanding, we got more than the included breakfast, but we were not charged much extra. There are picnic areas all along the route to Sumela. The parking was a little tight when we got there, but that was from people eating in the restaurant; once lunch was over, there was plenty of room, and we were pretty much to ourselves for dinner.
Beautiful wooded area with a rushing stream next to the restaurant. Nice rustic look of the place. Getting to the rooms involved climbing, so it might not be the best choice for someone who doesn't get around well.
