this is a city hotel, just over the bridge just out of town. Good massage treatments. Lots of places to eat. They also have a good seafood restaurant. There is a spa a gym and a pool.

During a visit to this beautiful and modern souk located at Shangri la hotel you can:
- shop for traditional sartifacts, painting, camels, etc as well as jewerly, clothes,etc.
- eat at fine restaurants and bars
- have a nice view of the big mosque
- have a free boat ride thru the souk and hotel
In general is a nice place to have a view of the big mosque and relax for the evening.

I am going to Abu Dhabi in June with my friend for a stop over, we are just there for a day between flights. Just wondering where is best to stay that is near the airport? Also how much is a taxi from the airport to the city? Thanks very much for your help in advance!
The airport is about a 30 minute drive from the city. I would say the Shangri-La Souk Qaryat Al Beri or the the Fairmont Hotel would be the closest. They might not be the cheapest though. A taxi from the airport to the city will cost you about 50-70 Dirhams. I don't know if it has changed a lot since those prices, but roughly around that.
Taxi's go by meter, and still its roughly aroud AED 70 to the city.
