Hilton Al Ain: Reliable 5-star hotel
We booked our stay on hilton.com for AED 377 (January Sale) per room / per night, including breakfast. Not bad for 5-star hotel in high season, isn't it?.
Pretty old but very well-kept hotel with excellent facilities like pools, tennis courts, gardens, several good restaurants and bars.
Highly recommended for a short break!
Big, clean rooms with balconies and LCD TV.
Friendly and useful reception and restaurant sfaff.
Good restaurants (steaks in Casa Romana are just unbelievable).
2 big swimming pools, 4 tennis courts, children playground, nice garden and loans.
In addition to those guest rooms located in the main building there are many one- and two-storey villas / chalets in the gardens, they seem to be a great option for families.

Our room had a small kitchenette with microwave. Nice breakfast with good choice of foods. Good pub and a small selection of restaurants. Indian restaurant - nice food, pub - good food and themed nights, international buffet restaurant - good. Pool area nice and spacious. Gym - well equipped.

Inter Continental Al Ain Resort: Inter Continental Al Ain Hotel/Resort
A very nice hotel, with a few (important) flaws.
The best of it are swimming pools, they have 3 of them (olympic, common and kids). Ambience is very nice. You can swim in olympic pool, or have a drink in a "common" one, that has a bar where you can stay in the water while enjoying your drink. There are 4 restaurants, Arabic one(serves breakfast), Italian (good food, great cocktails) ,Indian (I havent been there) and oriental(neither). Staff is very friendly. Also, hotel lounge serves very good Turkish cofee(great for business travelers :)
Negative things here were: an internet connection(sometimes works, sometimes doesn't and usually doesn't when you need it; very expensive, you have to pay regardless of if it works)
Irons(I allmost got a hystericall attack when they brought me, one after another, 3 irons from 15th century that barely worked, and I have had to iron my clothes for a meeting.
Rooms are not that good as you would expect according to the category, but at least all have a balcony.
swimming pool, gym, ambience, coffee, cocktails, food, staff
