Arabian Wild life Center
by Doctor38
In this center you'll see the Flora and Fauna of the Arabian Peninsula. There is a special hall for nocturnal animals where you can see Owls, foxes, Blind fishes and Bats. There are halls for Insects, snakes, Birds, Rodents, and mammals like wild Cats, Sand Cats, few species of Foxes, Jackal, Lizards, striped Hyenas, wolfs, Baboons and Leopards. The entire facility is climate control. The only animals out side are the last 4 on the list but you'll be in A/C area. Every thing is labeled in Arabic and English.
The visit is very educational. The Museum is closed on Tuesday “don’t believe the web site which says Monday”. Open daily from 9- 5:30, Fridays 2-5:30. A combined ticket for the Wild life Center, The Little Animal farm for Children and SHARJAH NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM will cost you 15 DH. or 30 dirham per family. You'll probably need. At least 4 hrs to see all three centers which are next to each other. The is a little canteen next to the Baboon cage!!
Old Sharjah Sites
by Doctor38
You can spend a day visitng the sites @ Hertiage area in Sharjah. It will be much cheaper to buy a single ticket 15 Dh or a family ticket for 20 DH rather than buy a ticket for each site. The ticket is good for @ least 2 weeks. It would be nice if you can visit during Winter to avoid the heat. Some of these sites are excellent and some of them not so good but if you are not paying any thing more why not enter all of them. The exhibits demonstrate how simple was life and how difficult was the envioment (and still is). I enjoyed the my visit, there is some thing refreshing about walking in narrow street. If you find that to be strange. I'll leave with some pictures
Sharjah - escape from congested city
by jivanne96
"Sharjah"
Sharjah is a little bit laid back compared to Dubai. They don't serve alcohol in hotel and can't even find pork in grocery unlike in Dubai. Some even say that you are not allowed to wear spaghetti strap tops and short in public place. If you will go there at 10pm, you will feel the difference from Dubai, little bit quiet by that time. Residential flats are not that congested.
