Sharjah Youth Hostel: Dubai Alternative
Ater getting kicked out of the the Dubai youth hostel due to an arriving Saudi soccer team I headed over here with another fellow in the same situation. This place is run by a couple of expats who are friendly and more than willing to hand out local advice. While not as modern as the Dubai hostel it lacks the attitude.
A quiet friendly place that is close to the beach. Just spent another night and a half there in Oct of 09' Place has not changed much other than business is down due to the economy. The Filipino guy that manages it is great> he has been there 11 years and is very helpfull.
There are internet cafes around the block along with cheap places to eat. The beach is a 15 min walk. For me this is a much better option than staying in some over priced hotel in Dubai.

I visited the hotel and the rooms because I was looking for an accomodation for some friends....They offer u offer you the choice of one bedroom with 2 single or one King size bed with spacious living room and attached bathroom.
if u want they have also apartments.
A swimmingpool, a restaurant,A/c, satellite tv, transport to the beaches, souks and airport....this hotel is on the other side of the Grand Hotel Sharjah...a good value accomodation for a right price.

UAE International Youth Hostal: Cheapest place to stay
The hostal is only 30 AED's with membership (45 without) and with it being just 10kms and a 5 AED bus trip to Dubai, it is well worth escaping the hassle and expense of staying in Dubai and stay in Sharjah.
