right next to the airport, this is one of the more popular places for wedding receptions.. Nothing spectacular about this hotel, Dubai has many more cheaper/nicer spots.

Al Bustan Rotana is an excellent place to spend your time in Dubai. A blend of tradition design and modern comforts add to the ambience of the facilities. Complete with four restaurants, a poolside bar, and an excellent nightclub it offers something for all tastes. The hotel also has squash courts, an outdoor temperature controlled swimming pool, a whirlpool, and a sauna as well as beauty salon, barber and laundry service. The service and ambience of this great hotel add to the experience of a stay in Dubai.
Sushi
by chizz about Benihana
Benihana at the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel has different japanese food themed nights which includes food and drink (soft drinks, juices, beer and wine). We went on a Saturday evening for the sushi buffet which included maki, sashimi, nigiri, hand rolls, salads, soup, several buffet dishes such as teriyaki chicken and rice and a nice selection of desserts. Sushi night is also on Tuesdays and starts at 6.30pm until 11.30pm. Prices are 150AED per adult. If you have finished eating before 8pm, you can get 20% off the bill. On Sundays and Wednesdays they have tempanyaki night too. The restaurant is nicely decorated and is very clean. Staff are very attentive. Maki rolls and desserts.

by cjad30
Just a couple of questions for you ever so helpful people we arrive next week for a stay in Dubai (first time)we are at the Al Bustan Rotana what Mode of transport would you recommend for the short journey from the airport ? and we will still be in town for the Monday and end of Ramadam -what can we expect ? fireworks, parties ? if so what is the must see event ? Many Thanks in anticipation .

Hello and greetings from Dubai!
The Al Bustan Rotana is pretty much right opposite the airport.
However, airport taxis have a relatively high basic fare of 25 or 30 Dirhams just for getting in. The entire ride will probably cost you around 35 Dirhams. Taxis are always available and it's the most convenient way of transport.
If you have a lot of luggage, get one of the airport taxi vans.
The last evening of Ramadhan / night before Eid will be a "dry night", meaning no alcohol will be served anywhere (as far as I can remember from last year...) but during the Eid days you'll see many families in the city's parks (it's 4 days public holiday for everyone) and the beaches. Many expatriates use these days off to travel around the region, or simply hop into their 4x4's and take a trip into the desert for camping (we will be doing that.)
Nightclubs are finally open again so every evening many people will be in the clubs enjoying dancing and good parties.
A nice way to enjoy Eid is to go down to the Dubai Creek (Seef Street) and see fireworks, etc. in the evenings. But there aren't any "official" events.

Hi! As Jess mentioned the Al Bustan Rotana is quite near the airport. Genrally all the majot hotels in Dubai provide a complimentary trip to the hotel once the guests land. I suggest you email the hotel and give them your flight details so that they could arrange for your transport. Eid celebrations are more or less family affairs so there arent many official functions. Dont miss the beaches , the creek side and the Gold Souk. Have a wonderful trip!!

Thanks very much for for your help -Finally - last question -I can't seem to get a straight answer from the store itself as to whether there is a Banana Republic Store up and running in the Burjurman Centre ?

Yes, I am 99% sure I saw a Banana Republic section (not huge though) right next to GAP in Bur Juman Mall.
