Wind Towers.
At Madinat Jumeira, you can see a reproduction of the old wind tower houses of Bastakia (originally from Iran).
These four sided open towers circulate cool breezes around the interior, allowing hot air to rise and escape.

Love Me Love Me Not :-)
Hi!
I'm going for work in Dubai and I'm a diabetic so in case i dont have insuline with me i need to know where I can find a pharmacy that has insuline?
I use novolet pencil, and i cant change them with other type so that would be a problem for me if no pharmacy could not have this type.
How goes the cost of a pencil?
I hope someone can help me with this topic.
Greetings.
Hi, welcome to VT.
We have many pharmacies with a huge range of medication and as we have diabetic people living here insuline is available. I don't know personally whether the specific one you want is available so you may need to check with phaarmacies or clinics here. You can find a list of them if you Google. (Unless Amir comes online shortly; I'm sure as a trained nurse who worked in Dubai he will know).
Thank you for ur answer.
It is difficult for me to change location quickly because of my diabet, thats why i have to be sure about this.
Hope for a specific answer from the nurse.
Thnks you.
I think the pencil is avai;able, however to make sure get in touch with the following:

Amir habibi, I knew you'd know much more about it than I do :-)
Colin Habibi, Thanks for being in touch and chatting when there is a time. Indeed Dubai is a forefront for fighting diabetes as UAE has one of the highest number of population affected!!
Kan Zaaman Food was one of the best VT's I ever had, so yummy :-)
Will be in touch.
You're right Amir, I'd forgotten that the UAE has some of the world's highest diabetes cases. That means our OP should be able to get the correct medicine I should think.

If you take a bus when travel around Dubai, be aware, three front row seats are usually for ladies, and bus driver will warn man passenger not to sit in ladies section.
If the bus full, and some ladies passengers have to stand, giving the seat to them is really appreciated (and show that you are truly gentleman :) )
But, usually, the bus won't stop at the bus stop to take more passanger, if the seats are fully occupied and some people have to standing.
You have all the brands available in this store right from D&G, chanel to guess n bossini.I would definately recommend this place if you love brands.Am not a brand person but i did indulge in some branded shopping. Mont blanc billfold, bag from MNG, top from Zara A Lot
This is not a tip about a particular venue but more of a general tip on the Creek.
It is a beautiful sight at night. Do not hesitate to cross the river and walk at the Bastakia Quartier or along the Creek and enjoy the special light and the atmosphere.
The city comes alive at night because during the day it gets so terribly hot that no one dares to walk on the streets, so at dusk it is the best time to enjoy a walk on the banks of the Creek. Comfy shoes and, this one for ladies, cover up !! Otherwise you will have all men staring at you and making comments to other men about you.
I've never tried taking the bus to travel around Dubai. The sights of long queues and buses packed with South Asian workers did not really appeal to me. This is a cheap mode of travelling but the service is extremely poor with complaints of waiting for more than an hour for a bus. This is especially the case on weekends when the number of buses on the road is reduce (which is weird since many people like to come out on Fridays!). My advice is, avoid using the bus service for travelling if you can or unless you've a very tight budget. Take the taxi, it's pricey but safe, comfortable and fast.
