The hotel's architecture is impressive: Arabic exterior with modern furniture & interior design. The staff in the car park, the lobby, and at the various restaurants & bars were all extremely professional, courteous & helpful.
Facilities: > Outdoor temperature controlled swimming pool & Fitness Centre.
> 24-hour business centre with free internet access.
> (2) Disability-friendly rooms.
I was pleasantly surprised to see a 3-star hotel located next to such a landmark as the "Burj Dubai"... I would have expected this to be reason enough for the developers to only build 5-star luxury accomodation and charge people extortionate prices, but this is not the case and that's great news!
Their rooms are cleverly designed: clean, fresh and well-cared for, with a modern yet relaxed & also Middle Eastern ambience. Prices are very, very reasonable (by Dubai standards) given the fact that you are staying in the centre of the city, with all that Dubai has to offer within short driving distance! But beware of seasonal price changes: Double room in Summer & Ramadhan = 550 Dhs per night. During major exhibitions (i.e. Gitex) = 1,750 Dhs per night!
We had a VT-meeting in the "Nezesaussi" restaurant & pub, which specialises in New Zealand, South African & Australian culinary favourites. It's very spacious with very friendly staff and once again, reasonable prices (bottled beer: 20 Dhs. Vodka mixer: 22 Dhs) Additional bars & restaurants can be found in the nearby Souk, including a gorgeous courtyard for smoking sheesha (waterpipe).
My verdict: A lovely hotel in an excellent location with good prices, convenient for both business travellers or families. Do visit their website & consider staying here!
--> UPDATE early 2008: There is also a 4-star hotel located right next door, the QAMARDEEN HOTEL, belonging to the same hotel group.
