how to get a visa for bahamas in the UAE

Re: visa

by al2401

It took me a little while to find but try this website

and go down to the second section. It looks like you can only get a 14 day tourist visa.

Re: visa

by Donna_in_India

Will you be arriving by cruiseship (from the U.S.) or plane? If by cruiseship, it's likely you will not need a visa.

Re: visa

It would be useful to check the following web site (URL) as well:

Re: visa

by Donna_in_India

Jay - the original poster is not trying to get a visa for UAE/Dubai. He is looking for a place to get a visa FOR the Bahamas IN Dubai.

Re: visa

by Donna_in_India

No problem Jay. We all make them. :-)

An important point for the OP is whether he is arriving by cruiseship or air. If coming by cruiseship (even if he is Indian), he may not require a visa. It's best he check with the consulate.

Travel Tips for Dubai

Palm Jumeirah Island

by Kuznetsov_Sergey

The Palm Jumeirah is an artificial manmade island created using land reclamation by a company owned by the Dubai government. It is one of three islands called the Palm Islands which extend into the Persian Gulf.
The Palm Jumeirah, which you can see on my photo, is the smallest and the original of three Palm Islands (Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jebel Ali and Palm Deira)
It consists of a trunk, a crown with 16 fronds, and a surrounding crescent island that forms an 11 kilometre long breakwater which are hardly seen from the top of Burj Al Arab.

You can watch my high resolution photo of Dubai on the Google Earth according to the following coordinates 25° 8' 31.49" N 55° 11' 8.67" E or on my Google Earth Panoramio Jumeirah Palm Island from Burj Al Arab.

Funky air-waves during the heat-waves... 92FM

by JessH

Part of the Arabian Radio Network (ARN), Dubai 92 (92FM) was the first English radio channel in the UAE.

It has since re-invented itself with a far younger, hipper and bolder face to appeal to the huge young expat community in Dubai.

The channel holds regular quizzes, promotions, prize-competitions, as well as a traffic hotline, special coverage of overseas events (MTV Video Music Awards in August 2005) and of course, great music!

Also, listen out for updates on special promotions at various restaurants, and what's happening at the numerous night clubs!

In the morning from 6am onwards, I always listen to Catboy & Geordiebird to keep me entertained on my way to work... he's kind of a local celebrity and they've been dubbed the "Posh & Becks of UAE Radio".

It's also amusing to listen to the Western radio DJ's desperately trying to be funny & slightly "naughty", without being suspended for breaking the UAE's media-censorship laws... In fact, you'll notice that all songs played on UAE radio are heavily censored. Swear words, sex, drugs, guns, and certain slang for certain body parts are all cut-out of the song... which makes most Hip Hop & Rap Songs sound like the CD is skipping, gap after gap after gap! Why do they even bother playing Missy Elliot, M&M, etc.?

Kary Perry's "I kissed a girl" - for instance - has been banned from radio stations in the UAE, as it is "not compatible with the UAE's religious, ethical and moral values and it promotes scandaleous behaviour"... Whatever.

Listeners within the UAE can log onto their website & listen to the shows live online...

UPDATE Sept. 2008: Their SMS / instant text message number is 4009.

Dubai in nights

by bugulma about -

There are very beautiful places in the center of the city in evenings. Because of high temperature in midday, the life in the city begins in the evenings and you can do everything that you could do in midday in another not hot place. The life pulses in evenings. It's pity but I didn't make photos of the night city. But be sure it's super!!

Reasonably good bus service

by cochinjew

The central bus station has buses departing in eiher direction of this very small desert place. The bus to the airport leaves from the down town bus station, 3 dirhams ( about a dollar ). Modern buses, very unfriendly filipino drivers. But the arab manager of the bus station was extraordinarily friendly and plied with all sorts of information. If you have a few hours to kill, it is good to take the bus
