 | Dubai Reviews | Tips 261 - 270 of 312 | | With 45 stories one of the landmarks in the new Marina Area. I have booked a "normal" room and was upgraded to a club floor room at the 31 floor with a fantastic view about the sea! The hotel was opened in 2005 so you will find all the high tec toys like big flat screens, remote control for the lighting system etc.. The staff is very friendly and helpful! The pool area is fine, but the noise from the construction work around is bad... so for a short swim its ok, if you like to relax, the hotel has a shuttle to another Le Meridien at the beach (5 minutes, but you cant work). There you have several pools and the beach. The pool service is great, you get cools towels and small fruits for free. One of the best things was the Club Lounge at the top floor... they serve all kinds of drinks and a small food selection around the day (all complementary). Its in the middle of an construction work area... so its not possible to walk around the hotel... I will definitely recommend this if you are on a business trip and your meeting is in this area!
Great sea view, friendly staff and a fantastic bar (Buddha Bar) and you get Bulgari bath amenities. If you like very modern and exclusive hotels... the Grosvenor House is your choice!

Very recommended for the friendly staff, the large rooms (baths could benefit from some refurbisment though) and not recommended if your breakfast if the most important meal of your day! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms are big enough although bathrooms were small and not very modern. Clean though. Always very appreciated... I don't recommend the breakfast on the other hand. Very poorly cooked and not assorted at all. The kitchen staff also rather unfriendly. Frankly at some point I wondered if they were paid at all for doing their work because their manners were very poor. In our case we went during Ramadan and it was very dificult to find somewhere to eat proper breakfast because of the fasting but if you go in any other month of the year, just pass on the buffet and get yourself to a nice cafeteria for breakfast. The restaurant on the other hand features the nicest indian food ever. You have to comje here if you are a fan of Indian food. The chef is Indian and on top of being a really nice man is extremelly careful with the preparation and presentation of the dishes. The location is very central, in Downtown Deira(opposite Al Ghurair Shopping Complex) and just 4 kms from Dubai International Airport. Very close to City Centre too.
The facilities are Ok. The swimming pool is quite small but clean and nice enought for a dip. There is also an outdoors jacuzzi. Very central location. Very convenient. Its a great Resort hotel insulated from all the construction work in Dubai. I booked one of the villas and had a fantastic stay there. The complex enfolded two hotels and several villas, waterways and a fantastic, clean beach. Beside the big pool area you have (as a villa guest) the choice to use the villa pools (not crowded) which is a great alternative. There are plenty of different restaurants (expensive and non expensive) and a traditional shopping mall (Souk) is directly linked to the complex (including a Starbucks...). The rooms are very nicely decorated in a traditional, high quality style.
If you stay within the complex (which includes the Wadi Water Park, the Burj al Arab and the Jumeirah Beach Hotel), you will not realize, that Dubai is a huge construction work! hello there, My parents and I(im a 23 y.o guy) went there last December (winter month for dubai hence cooler than usual but still HOT)and stayed at Madina Jumeirah hotel.it was superb. we could see both the palm jumeirah and burj alarab from our rooms facing the sea.(we requested the view, i suggest u do the same).i highly recommend that hotel. there r boat rides to the rooms, huge swimming pools, and a shopping mall. very arabic themed. we were there for the Dubai international film festival (richard gere, george clooney etc). 2) activity wise, id suggest a rivercruise (dubai creek river cruise), sanddune trackin 4x4, camel riding, yachting, scuba diving and shopping! gold necklaces. or just lay there soakin up the sun on the jumeirah beach. a dinner on top floor of Burj alarab wud be class... :-) hope this helps kind regards from malaysia.

The hotel is located in the heart of the main electronics and textile market in Diera and only a 15-20 minutes drive from the Dubai International Airport. Guests can conveniently hop on to the Dubai Airport Bus #401 (3AED per pax) from outside the Terminal 1 bldg (turn left after exiting) & be brought right to the doorstep of the hotel in Sabakha Street in 15-20 min. The same bus will bring you back to the airport in 30-40 min the other way (still 3 AED). It is only a few minutes away from many tourist destinations like Deira City Centre, the Twin Towers Mall, the Dubai Creek, the Gold Souk, the Spice Souk and the Dubai Textile Souk. Convenience is definitely a big draw as you need not drag yourself too far from bus to hotel - it's just across the road! (and it's a BIG factor considering I reached the hotel at 3am!) Booked the hotel via Hostelworld. Dubai does have its share of low end hotels but most of them are almost non-contactable. This hotel thus came as sort of a compromise as I was seeking a centrally located budget hotel. My room 303, despite its proximity to the lift (which means plenty of annoying ding-ing for light sleepers) came with a balcony the allows me to feel the vibes of the streets below. The en-suite room (no bath tub; towel provided) was comfortable - clean and orderly and comes with a mini-fridge and a TV....that curiously received only Indian channels! Breakfast is NOT included. The hotel is manned by a joint Philippino-Indian staff. Service is friendly and honest. When asked to use the Internet, the manager directed me elsewhere as the rates were better. The hotel also allow you to deposit your luggage and they do accept credit card payments. The area around the hotel is buzzing with frantic activities till about 1-2 am in the morning. Bargain shops are literally throwing their wares at you with items going at ridiculous low prices though standard of the wares may leave much to be desired.
Soak up the Dubai experience among the many souks around Deira....though please be prepared. Deira is home to many Indians who are either residing or working in Dubai so instead of an Arabic adventure, it felt more like I was in India! The proximity to souks meant easy shopping though looking for variety in food becomes a huge challenge as I ventured far and wide to only find Indian restaurants and kebab stops. I did manage to find an Internet cafe on the top floor of Abraj Centre, just 5 minutes stroll from the Hotel that charges only 3AED for 1 hour. (The Hotel charges 10AED for 1 hour) Leave a Comment
