The Ritz Carlton Dubai: My favourite hotel in Dubai!    Check Rates
  • Satisfaction:
  • This is a gorgeous hotel. Up to the usual Ritz Carlton standards, this hotel suits Dubai.

We stayed in a Club Executive Suite.

I would highly recommend this hotel, it is my absolute favourite in Dubai.

The service is spot on, the staff so friendly and so keen to help, very well trained.

The Club Level rooms are served by a lounge which offers free beverages, including Champagne, and they have snacks and hors d'oeuvres available all day long.
You can take a buffet breakfast here too.Nice to sit eating your scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, with a glass of perfectly chilled champagne at 8am - admiring the beauty of the Arabian Gulf!

Staff in the Lounge remember your name, and your favourite drinks.
Very highly recommended to pay the extra for these rooms, alcohol is very expensive in Dubai. Its nice to have your pre-dinner aperitif in here.

Our suite was superbly decorated, and extremely clean and well cared for.

In addition to the beautiful main pool, there is an adults only pool area, the pool is quite small here, but it is so peaceful. Great if you dont have kids, or you left them at home! See my picture of it.

The gardens are beautiful and lead down to the gorgeous beach.

The staff bring you ice water sprays at mid-day to cool down, and chilled fruit.

The gym is a little small, it was the only thing I was disappointed in at this hotel.

The spa is fabulous. It's an Indonesian theme, and the treatments are soooo good, it is great to be pampered on holiday!

Choice of four restaurants, good food in all of them, alcohol, like all Dubai hotels, is expensive.

To sum up, if you like your hotels to be elegant but not stuffy, book the Ritz Carlton for your holiday in Dubai!

    Royal Mirage: Stay international
  • Satisfaction:
  • The Royal Mirage is my favorite hotel in Dubai, it's very expensive and is the probably one of the most stunning hotels you'll ever see here. Lavish, stylishly Morocon, stunning beaches and just out of this world. A must stay for honeymooner's.

It is a bit out of the way and getting back into town takes about 20mins by cab, but it's worth it. Unlike alot of the other hotels in Dubai they haven't "over cooked" the decor so its beautiful. However pls make sure if you stay anywhere else it is an international hotel and has a website. If is it doesn't your likely to end up in some brothel in downtown Dubai which can be quite nasty!

And don't be fooled, this is a muslim country but downtown Dubai, Bur Dubai, is Russian hoar hell as soon as the sun goes down. This does not effect life here in gerneral, but unless you want it slapped in your face 24/7 then ake my advice, DONT stay in any hotel if its not on the Sheikh Zayed Road, or somewhere in Jumeriah. If the accomadation is boasting Creek views or city life then save your time and just say "NO".

Views are stunning, beaches gorgeouse and decor to die for.

Royal Mirage Arabian Court Hotel: Realy is the One and Only    Check Rates
  • Satisfaction:
  • We stayed here when my wife arrived for a bit of a treat. The summer rates were excellent. HTis was truly the best hotel experience that either of us have ever had and we both traveled extensively for business. I cant rave about this place enough. From the moment you hit the drive way the ambiance just hits you and you start to feel relaxed.

Everything is done well the staff were outstanding they weren't over the top, just there enough, and very prompt. The decor is great, the whole feel is quite authentic. Check out the roof top bar and the sheesha is great in the courtyard downstairs.

I recomend this if you ge the chance it is seriously close enought to all the stuff in Dubai you want to do but when you get back you can escape the chaos. You could be anywhere. These guys really know how to run a hotel

The decor, the lighting, the you really feel like your at a palace. They could be packed and youd never know

Rydges Plaza Dubai: Avoid this one!    Check Rates
  • Satisfaction:
  • After completing an online booking which allowed 1 child to stay free, we were slogged with the cost of a fold away bed. The staff refused to listen and said the child could only stay free with exisitng bedding.

The bed was hard, and the paint was falling from the ceiling in the bathroom in HUGE blobs.

It's not in a touristy area. You get to live amongst the locals.

Rydges Plaza Dubai: Decent Hotel    Check Rates
  • Satisfaction:
  • It's not set in lush grounds, it's not some pseudo 1001 Arabian Nights fantasy, it's a smallish hotel set on a busy roundabout in downtown Dubai. And you know what? It's a great hotel.

Rooms are large, clean and completely functional. Bathrooms are clean and plenty big enough. There are at least 6 eating establishments in the hotel and the Aussie Legends bar is relatively cheap for a pint & packed on a Thursday night.

The staff were great - made every effort to ensure that we had a great stay - can't fault the place at all.

Pool is small but perfectly formed.

SOFITEL DUBAI CITY CENTRE: Best place to start your shopping in Dubai    Check Rates
  • Satisfaction:
  • The main attraction of this hotel to me was the Deira City Centre. The mall is really huge and it took me more than 3 days to really discover the mall. Good selection of shops; not too expensive like Wafi or Burjuman, various food courts offering an international cuisine and the generally pleasant ambience of the place. It was so convenient to pop in and out of the hotel to the mall particularly when I had a baby in tow. It saved me on my transportation and meals expenses.
The hotel staff was very courteous and generally aim to please. Service was prompt and friendly. Great place to stay in Dubai.

The location of the hotel to the biggest mall in the middle east is the star quality. However the hotel has the normal city view, in this case you can spot the nearby airport !! Try not to get the rooms facing the roof of the huge shopping mall. You are then better off closing the curtains!

    Savoy Hotel Apartments: Nice hotel
  • Satisfaction:
  • Nice budget accommodation in the middle of the city. It is minutes away from Burjuman. The Creek, textile souq and Dubai Museum are within walking distance of about 15 mins. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The breakfast is boring. But overall nice hotel. They also organize some tours and shuttle services to various tourist attractions around Dubai. Enquire with the counter.
