Luxury at its best

A fantastic hotel if you're looking for something a bit more luxurious than normal and want to be pampered at every opportunity. Wonderful service with every courtesy extended with a smile. Rooms are the height of luxury and if they are just a bit over the top, you can certainly get used to it!
Would highly recommend if you are looking for the ultimate getaway.

Unique Quality: A truly wonderful spa with a separate men and womens area and a great selection of treatments. No stay would be complete without a visit to this spa.

Dubai´s new symbol

If You want to stay in Jumeira, and want to spend more than 1,200 $ for a room, then you can choose the Burj Al Arab, the seven star hotel in Jumeira, or you can only visit the hotel paying $100.00, of course i only saw the hotel from the nearby beach.

Dubai at its most opulent....

For our first trip to Dubai, we decided to spend the first night in the Burj al Arab - The Arabian Tower.

We were able to see the hotel as we approached Dubai on the flight - you can see it towering above the gorgeous blue waters of the Arabian Gulf for miles around.

We were met by a hotel representative on arrival at the airport. He carried our bags and whisked us through Immigration at lightening speed.

We transferred to the hotel in one of their fleet of white Rolls -Royces. We were offered iced towels by the driver, and he gave me a rose.

The hotel is truly breathtaking - but in my opinion it is not the "best hotel in the world."

The service is very good, the food was great, and the rooms are all suites. Duplex suites. Big enough to live in. Bigger probably than our first house was, if you consider the square footage.

A great experience in an interesting hotel, but, well, I doubt I would stay there again.
There are hotels in Dubai that I consider much better - maybe the Burj is just too big ?

Unique Quality: The decor inside this place is awesome. Not to my taste, but has to be seen to be believed.

The atrium is stunning - non-residents can pay to enter the hotel I believe.

The views from the floor to ceiling windows in the suites are awesome.

Nice touches, such as complimentary fruits and mineral water when you are lying in the sun.

You have your own butler. He brings you complimentary tea or coffee in the morning.

The bar right at the top of the hotel, just below the heli-pad is worth visiting . Yes the drinks are expensive, its worth it just to see the views and to experience the Burj.

All in all, if you can afford to stay here, by all means try it, if only for one night. But it made me feel like I was in DisneyWorld or something.
I was glad to be moving on the next day.

Burj Al Arab hotel

Burj Al Arab in Arabic means "Tower of Arabs". Its Dubai's most expensive and luxurious hotel where minimum per night rates start from $1000. Obviously not every one can afford to stay here.

The hotel also welcomes it guests for short time who can deposite entry fee and spend some time inside hotel. Cameras are supposed to be deposited at reception as no photography is allowed inside hotel.

I also spend some time inside Bur Al Arab in November 2003. At that time they were charging AED 120 ( $35 appox) per person as entry fee. This fee is refundable at any of their restaurants.

The hotel has sail shaped structure which is 321 meters above Arabian gulf. It has been built on man made island 280 meters off shore. There are 202 suites in the hotel. Jumeirah beach hotel and Wild Wadi water park are located just next to it.

Each suite has its own reception, living area , dinning area and office desk. with laptop, scanners, printers, multimedia systems, fax and copier. Guests have their own dedicated butlers available 24 hours. Each suite has 14 telephones for use of guests. Bath rooms are on ground floor of each suite. They are not less then a wonderland.

Sail structure outside gives rainbow colors at night. 22K Gold is used alot in walls, pillars and domes throughout. Guests are welcomed at airport and transfers are by chauffeur-driven Rolls Royce. Guests have also option to use helicopter for arrival at airport while enjoying 15-minute bird's-eye of Dubai.

A central fountain, called The Volcano, is centre stage for stunning displays. You can enjoy dancing water works there. Guests are met in the world's largest Atrium Lobby.

Unique Quality: Al Mahara restaurant serves seafood but for that first you have to take 3 minute submarine' voyage from the hotel's lobby to this wonderland. Al lwan restaurant at mezzanine level offers guests a taste of the finest Arabian hospitality throughout the day.

Assawan Spa and Health Club is located on the 18th level of hotel. It is open 24 hours a day. Squash courts, changing rooms, sauna, steam room, plunge pool, indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi are few of available facilities. Also hydrotherapy treatments and lates gym facilities are available.

Diwania serves snacks and drinks. Bab Al Yam caf? and outdoor pool bar is the perfect place to enjoy sundowners and an early supper. Al wan Restaurant and the Sahn Eddar Atrium Lounge are the perfect place to meet friends and relax over morning coffee or afternoon tea.

Bab Al Yam cafe serves healthy foods and snacks throughout the day and diners have a choice of eating indoors or relaxing outside by the pool bar. On the 27th level is the magnificent Al Falak Ballroom.

Due to its unique identity all new car number plates have logo and image of Burj Al Arab. Let me tell you that money you pay at Burj Al Arab is worth what you see and experience. It is said to be world's only seven star hotel. So visit Burj Al Arab when you are in Dubai next time!

A superb, elegant and fantastic hotel.. Things are on their upper limit but a luxurious life should be like this..

Unique Quality: A fish restaurant with a passage inside an aquarium, deluxe restaurants.. Double floored rooms around 325 m2 each and excellent decoration..

The swankiest hotel in the world? Maybe...

Hotel Burj Al-Arab --- The Arab Tower
Discounted (!) prices during the Dubai Shopping festival are between US$900 and US$2,999 a night!

On a much more practical note, for hotels in Dubai, much of the rest of Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and Brazil (!), check out AsiaTravel.com. These people offer amazing reductions -- up to 75% for pre-paid rooms -- on reservations booked over the Internet. Highly recommended We've used them for four years now and have always been extremely well-satisfied.

Unique Quality: You probably won't be able to afford to stay here. Few can. An all-suite hotel, it is most likely the most spectacular watering hole anywhere in the world. It boasts the world's highest atrium, huge aquaria, a restaurant with glass walls offering an undersea view offshore, and positively gigantic rooms. The smallest suite -- and all 202 are 2-storey duplexes -- is something like 2,500 square meters! For most people, it's simply a tourist sight, but it's one that few will want to miss. They have a very extensive website, though I don't have the URL to hand. As for transport from the airport, you have a choice between a Rolls Royce limousine service or a helicopter.....

Burj Al Arab

Just wondering what kind of prices we
should expect if we go to the top floor bar or the under water
restaurant at the Burj Al Arab??

Is it worth the money? Is one better than the other?

RE: Burj Al Arab

by 37SingleMaleInDubai1

Just going there or planning to eat and drink as well??

RE: RE: Burj Al Arab

by lovinoz

Eat and drink of course ... I heard from someone that they might have a really high minimum spend required, wondering if you know what that is and how much the food/drinks cost ... ? Thanks!

RE: RE: Burj Al Arab

Well they have different restaurants and having a simple lunch or dinner without drinks in the least priced one is about U.S.D. 90 and it goes up to 150.
To get detailed information check their web site, send an email and they email you back all the details. The URL of the web site is as following:

The Burj is going to charge you way to much for what you're going to get(you pay for the name). You're better off going to the Hilton Creek for Gordon Ramsey's restaurant. The food is better, the service is better, the wine list is the same, the cost is about half. If you want something a bit more casual, try Medzo in Wafi.

I agree with Chefwest...

the whole hype about the Burj is exhaggerated... and the restaurant at the top of the hotel has actually been voted Dubai's worst restaurant for 2 consecutive years! So I definitely wouldn't eat there... if you want to enjoy the view, go up for a drink (during the day time! otherwise you won't see anything) and eat either at the Seafood restaurant or somewhere outside the hotel.

If you want to have a gorgeous meal, more affordable, and with a great view of the Burj Al Arab itself, I recommend any of the many restaurants at the Madinat Jumeirah!

Check this link (copy & paste) for a full list of their restaurants:
