Not the best of Crown Plazas hotels
Old hotel, stuff is not helpful at all. Pool is in the sun only until 1-1.30pm, so forget sunny afternoons.. didnt like it at all. THe only thing is good - the location.

My stay at the Crowne Plaza Dubai hotel was extremely. The room service was impeccable, as well as the hotel staff.
Unique Quality: Very clean, very courteous hotel staff. Very convenient location. Not far from the Dubai Mall. My room was very comfortable, with modern design. There was a choice to eat at several different restaurants. The breakfast buffet was very well presented, with eggs to order, fresh breads, muffins, potatoes, cereals, juices, fruits, bacon, sliced meats, cheeses, berries, etc.
Over the past few years I have averaged about 150 hotel nights a year, so it takes a lot to please me. I'm reporting after my fourth stay here in 12 months (75 nights at this property). It's a big hotel, but the atmosphere is personal; after one or two days the staff remember you and your preferences and greet you by name. Reception is personal and friendly, rooms are great and well maintained. The restaurants have good food, and the way they treat the guest is second to none. The Al Dana breakfast buffet ranges from smoked salmon to middle east meze, with fresh breads and a range of fresh juices. At night it serves various themed buffets - the fish night has very fresh local varieties, cooked to your liking. Mr Brian and Mr Eddie make sure you are happy, and their multilingual staff are so anxious to please. The Al Fresco Italian restaurant led by Ms Ianne is a cosy refuge at the end of a hard day of work or shopping. Chef is a talented Italian, and has a great way with pasta - but again the welcome and attention is terrific - warm and human. The Texas Grill actually serves some good fish and vegetable dishes, and I found it ideal for a light supper - there's a happy, communicative chef who pays great attention to detail. Small things like a tasty lobster bisque garnished with the ligtest, brightest, pesto or the tangy sauce bearnaise alongside your steak make it a happy eating experience. And again, Ms Jovy and her colleagues genuinely love to see their guests. From room attendants to door people this is an amazingly consistent hotel with loads of personality and warmth for business or leisure alike. Well trained staff anticipate your needs and take pride in their jobs.
Unique Quality: Fine views of the Emirates Towers from front rooms, but just a little noisy for some. There's a well equipped gym and an open air pool on the fourth floor. Take the hotel shuttle or the nearby metro to Mall of the Emirates, or another regular free bus to the new, glistening Dubai Mall.
Close to the airport and has some nice restaurants! Wagamama's and Trader Vic's, a great night club called Zinc, and an even better English Pub! The rooms are what you expect from a Crowne Plaza. The souk's and beaches are a short taxi ride. I recommend the desert safari and day trip to Oman from this hotel.
Unique Quality: Food and pub selections!
We stayed in the hotel residential flats over the weekend Sep 2004: Excellent Experience!
The flat had two bedrooms, a kitchen, TV room, main bathroom with bath/shower and small bathroom)
It had all the services of a hotel (cleaning/mini bar/pay tv/room service/etc), but the comfort of having your own kitchen (excellent cooking, mom!)
Unique Quality: all the crowne plaza hotel benefits (pool/spa/restaurants/etc), it's just on the other side of the hotel.
Also, close to a wide range of restaurants in the same building:
TGIF, Wagamama, Al Burz Iranian cuisine, Starbucks, a supermarket, hairdressing salon, some fashion outlets
Across the road are the Emirates Towers- luxury shopping, great food.
They normally charge US$650 per nite for a two bedroom flat, we got it for US$ 230, thumbs up to dad for scaring them down to that rate. You can do it too, yes you can :o).

I visited the Crown Plaza in Dubai and although its one of the older properties in Duabi, it was fantastic, the staff were great and the rooms had lovely views over Dubai. I can well recommend the hotel and its nightclub.
I stayed at the Crowne Plaza, Dubai for a couples of days last week on a business trip. Arrived at the hotel to find it fully booked even though my reservation was made weeks ago. After some discussion at the reception (around 15 minutes) they found me a room which they indicated to be "very good". In fact it turned out to be "nothing special".
This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel, but I have stayed in a lot better during my travels. In fact I have never stayed in a hotel so expensive at AED 2100/nt (around $570/nt) - certainly not worth the money.
Other aspects of the hotel - rooms clean but in need of modernisation, service was reasonably good, food was average, location reasonable for the airport but not great for shopping or for the beach.
My recommendation - search around and find something better and cheaper.
I stayed at the hotel for one night one my way to England from New Zealand. I had booked a club room and was not disappointed. I was concerned as my flight arrived at 6.00am and I was at the hotel by 6.45am. This was not a problem as a room was allocated immediately by the helpful reception staff. The room was a good size and clean and cool. The club lounge on the 17th floor was excellent, so was the service and breakfast. I would certainly stay here again
Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Crowne Plaza for two weeks last October, we did make the mistake of staying during Ramandam, but all the same it was still fantastic! The room was lovely, nice comfortable bed, clean and very spacious. It was cleaned daily, fresh towels and robes were left. The beds were also turned down every night and a chocolate left on the pillow which was a nice touch. There's a fridge in the room as well as the mini bar. We went to the supermarket in the shopping centre under the hotel and stocked our fridege up with a few essentials. The hotel also provide bottled water, they leave it when they clean you room whuich is handy.
We ate at the Italian restaurant on our first night and it was gorgeous, we went again on the last night.
The Al Dana coffee shop is also nice, we just went for a snack in the afternoon and didn't need to eat again because we got that much, it was very nice.
The hotel provides a bus service to the beach each day, well its another hotel, can't remember the name, it leaves at 10am and picks you up at 4pm. We only went to that particular beach once, it was really nice, we just didn't like being restricted to times. There's a really nice pool there too.
The pool at the hotel was fine, it wasn't massive, but while we were there it was never really very busy, the sun does go behind the Emirates Towers at about 2pm though and you dont get much sun up there after that.
We didnt actually spend that much time at the pool anyway, the beaches are absolutely beautiful, far too nice to be missed. We got a taxi to the public beach most days, it was only 50p to get in and it was so peaceful, hardly anyone there.
There is a really good waterpark in Jumeirah, its called Wild Wadi, definately reccomend going!
We found a gorgeous indian restaurant in Wafi City, in the Pyramids, called Asha's. That was a really nice place.
it was really easy to get a taxi, the doormen were really helpful and friendly. The staff on the reception were also very pleasent.
Almost forgot about the breakfast, that the highlight! Haha. Loads of choice, all fresh fruits. cereals, breads as well as full english, even had baked beans. The chef was there cooking a variety of omlettes and pancakes on request. They breakfast catered for every nationality, there couldn't have been any more variety.
Over all the Crowne Pelaza was definately a 5 star hotel, it was fantastic, we would definately stay there again. Just be aware that it is necessary to get taxis everywhere, because the hotel is in the business district, but the taxi's are cheap.
Stayed for 5 nights and really could not fault it.
Room spotless- as were all public areas.
Location good for reaching downtown (free shuttle) or beach (free access to partner hotel get voucher from business centre)
Nightclub enjoyable, handy mall attached with fast food and nice coffe shop. Walking distance to Longs Bar and others including emirates towers (try a cocktail in the emirates towers bar)
Would stay in this area over Jumeraih beach every time.
Got a great rate on hotel website by booking early.
Hello,
I have to arrange a hotel/housing for my co-workers and I who are going to attend a trade show in the Dubai World Trade Center November 18-22. As the show is huge, the hotels I've called around/near the trade center are all booked. Also, our budget per night is $240 per person.
Please send me hotel and housing recommendations that are in a location that's convenient. Does anyone have a recommendation for a local travel agency that I can contact to help me with the hotel?
Thanks,
Tatiana
Hi there,
Well I believe you dont need to call hotels yourself, locally you can check your travel agents and for sure they can help you to book for your mentioned date. They do have special rates and allowances from hotels. Hotels in Karama, Shaikh Zayed Road, Satwa and Bur Dubai would be ideal and sure you can find something within your budget. Just get busy contacting.
Good luck.
During exhibitions and trade shows in Dubai, hotel prices tend to shoot-up and become very expensive, especially in the area around the Dubai World Trade Centre.
You can try the:
> IBIS or Novotel near the Trade Centre
> Crowne Plaza Dubai, near Trade Centre
> Rydges Plaza Hotel, near Trade Centre & good value for money
> Jumeirah Rotana, near Trade Centre

I think your co-workers are visiting dubai during Gitex. very difficult to find accomadation here then probably you can try as jessie suggested or you could try your luck at the Golden Sands furnished apartments.
contact a travel agent and I am sure they will be able to help you out.
