Dubai Nova HoteWell priced & centrally located
Hotel is very well located in Bur Dubai, it is about 1 minutes walk from Dubai museum and 3 minutes walk from Dubai creek through the Seuk, you can also walk to Diving Village and Heritage village in about 5-10minutes and using the water taxis can cross the creek to the Gold Seuk and the other part of Bur Dubai in the same time.
Hotel services are good, there is a tourist desk in the hotel where you can book desert safaris, trips to Hatta, dinner cruises etc. I only ate in the restaurant at breakfast and it was adequate, don't expect bacon eggs and beans, but they had a local breakfast, cereal and fruit juice along with the normal stuff like toast.
The bedrooms are large, the bathrooms are a good size too, the rooms are also kept clean and there is a fridge and cable TV provided too, in the lobby the hotel provides regional daily newspapers.
Unique Quality: For this hotel the unique quality is it's location, but if you stay here, don't make the mistake I did of renting a car, there are 2 spaces allocated for the hotel on the busy main road, and I spent up to 2 hours some nights driving around looking for a space, as it's near a large, busy shopping district they were difficult to find and if you fail to understand the metering system correctly, you'll get fined.

seeking accommodation advice
We are an American academic couple visiting Dubai from Jan - April 2007. During our last visit in Dec-Jan 2006, we had no problems finding a sublet for a month. This time it seems we cannot find anything within our budget, which is not really great, but I expected that for $2500 one should be able to find a furnished one-bedroom apartment. Well, we have had no luck so far. I have done several searches, including the webpages recommended on this site. If anyone has a one bedroom apt. or know someone renting a place in Dubai, please reply. We will appreciate it greatly.
