Well I think half tour package is available for 500 AED, better to contact Dubai transport company on the following URL:

http://dtc.dubai.ae/en.portal?dtcaboutus,Article_000038,1,&_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=view

Public Taxi & District Taxi Rates:

You don't need to hire a cab for the half day.

Where will you be staying? We can give you directions from your hotel if we know where it is.

The Metro gets you to Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall, from there you can jump in a cab to take you to Atlantis and get a cab back to, say, Mall of the Emirates Metro station. The Creek is in the centre of the original city and is walkable and also has nearby Metro stations.

We spent one whole day in Dubai this summer. We took the Big Bus Company tour (http://www.bigbustours.com/eng/dubai/), which takes you all over the city and along Jumeirah Beach. The tour costs US$60 (220 AED). However, the whole tour takes four hours just driving. I don't know how much time do you have. If you're interested, you can take a look at my blog about this trip: http://dubaiinoneday.blogspot.com/. Don't forget to book Burj Khalifa online.

Travel Tips for Dubai

The khor

by call_me_rhia

The khor is Dubai's creek - basically the life and blood of the city. If you simply walk along it, you'll see it buzzling with activity: people loading goods on their dhows, dhows sailing off to faraway ports, dhows sailing in with their cargo of goods... On both sides of the khor you can find two different fces of Dubai: Deira with its small shops and souqs, and Bur Dubai, with its glittering skyscrapers and wide roads. My fondest memory is an hour ong "cruise" along the khor, at dusk - with the sunlight reflected in the buildings that line the creek, glittering like gold.

Heritage sites and Places of interest Dubai UAE

by 37SingleMaleInDubai1

Archaeological Sites
There are four main excavation sites in Dubai, at Al Qusais, Al Sufooh, Jumeirah and Hatta. The first two are graveyards dating back more than 2,000 years. The Jumeirah site reveals artifacts from the 7th to 15th centuries AD. These sites are not yet open to the public. However tourists or tour operators may obtain a special permit from Dubai Museum to visit the digs.

Roundhouse
Located on the Dubai’s Beach road on site of former ruler H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum’s office. A replica of the ‘Roundhouse’ has been constructed to honour the site where documents were signed in 1972 for the formation of UAE, uniting the ecirates of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain and Ajman. Ras Al Khaimah joined later.

Dubai has its own flag which belongs to Government of Dubai.
A red flag with a white border.
Dubai uses its Flag on the site of all of the Government Departments.
The Dubai flag is flown almost always, together with the national flag of the United Arab Emirates.

Gold Souk

by mccrorj

The souk is a long street with a wooden roof and shops either side. You can buy all kinds of jewllery and some clothing although the latter seems to be an aside. I didn't go to purchase anything in particular but was pleasantly suprised to see aropund this area that the authorities have been able to retain something of old dubai. Believe me there is very little left of any previous city. This is a must visit location. Anything golden There is no limit to how much you can spend in the gold souk. Take my advice leave your wallet in the hotel safe that's going to be the best place for it but make sure you get to the souk. I

Do not hesitate to take the metro

by Penelope4

If you want to go shopping, take the metro. Be your destination be Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, City Centre - save money by taking the metro. Just remember that the first car is for female passengers and/with small kids. Men should take the other wagons/cars. Dress appropriately even when you are taking the public transportation - no plunging necklines, shorts or sleeveless.
