Hyatt Regency Dubai

I did not stay in a hotel, but from all reports the Hyatt is excellent, a true 5 star hotel.
It is relatively new, as I remember when it was being built and watched its progress.
The restaurant is open to non-residents, and also the other facilities can be used at a fee : the Kidz Corner where the children are supervised and fed; the swimming pool; tennis court; and just strolling in the lovely garden is a pleasure. Like many places in Dubai water features are common- a stream, fountains and waterfall, all aimed at reducing the heat.

Unique Quality: The views are nothing to write home about, but the grounds are attractive and well kept.

Have always been a fan of Hyatt. Their membership program is great and it's so easy to redeem for free stays.

That's what I did for as little as 5000 points a night. As hotels in Dubai are pretty expensive, this saves me a huge bundle of $$$.

Location is pretty good as it is walking distance to the Gold Souk and the jetty to Bur Dubai.

The lobby of the hotel has been renovated and it's ultra modern with a popular cafe. The Japanese restaurant is pretty good with excellent service.

The room I had had a great sea view and of the gold souk. The room needs to be renovated as well as it is pretty old, faded and basic. Good thing I was staying for free as it is not worth the rate it was going for (US$250++).

Hotel staff is friendly and helpful, though a couple were quite snobbish.

Would I go back there again? Only if it's free.

Hyatt Regency is one of oldest five star hotels in Dubai. It is still very famous and very well maintained. Located in Deira just across Gold Souk , it is just 7 km from airport. Hotel offers 400 elegant rooms and suites with view of Arabian gulf. There are also 333 furnished appartments. All rooms come with IDD telephone, mini bar, hair dryer, TV with satellite channels and individually controlled AC.

Five floors of the hotel are dedicated to the luxurious Regency Club where guests may take advantage of an exclusive private lounge offering complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, cocktail, a private boardroom and extensive business facilities.

In-house doctor, baby sitter, safety deposit boxes, laundry, dry cleaning, florist, bank, pharmacy, ladies and gents hair salon, beauty parlour, Galleria shopping mall with two cinemas and car rental desk are few of the services being offered. There is huge parking space for 500 cars.

Unique Quality: Now lets talk about reataurants and bars in the hotel. Al Dawaar is Dubai's only revolving restaurant. Focaccia restaurant offers cusine from Italy, France and Spain. Shahrzad is Iranian restaurant. Caravan Café offers international cuisine 24 hours a day. The Premiere is night club. You can enjoy drinks with the beat of music at Carpenter's Bar. Also there is Lobby Lounge and Poolside snack bar. 19th Hole offers drinks, snacks, music and shisha in the Golf Park.

Fitness centre offers facilities such as fully equipped gym, aerobic studio, outdoor swimming pool, floodlit tennis courts, jogging track, separate ladies and gents spa area with sauna, jacuzzi, steam room and plunge pool, Ice skating and golf club.

Stay at this hotel would be a great experience. Try it next time when you are in Dubai :-)
