We decided to stay in Dubai for Christmas and decided to stay here as it is close to where we have some friends living in Dubai, and I would get more Marriott Reward Points ;-) The room was very large and comfortable. The Executive Lounge was one of the better Marriott ones so if you are not entitled to access as Gold or Platinum member of the Rewards Scheme you may want to consider paying for a room with access to the lounge for the free breakfast and evening cocktails with snacks. There is also free wireless internet in the lounge. The small roof top pool was nice enough, but right under the flight path so the noise from aircraft taking off was a pain in the ear.

The quality of the food in the hotel restaurants was superb. The two main buffet style places served a very good range of tasty, freshly cooked food. On some nights it is possible to pay one price and sample dishes from the three restaurants (the third being a German beer cellar).
