With breakfast
Room tariff says 500 per night for double room.. Dunno how, but we managed to check in for 380 dhs per night both for double and triple room with breakfast.. my colleagues stayed here for 11 days, and I arrived Dubai on their last day.. the bed is comfortable.. many chinese resto around to choose from..
good hotel with many wireless connection available (not from the hotel)..

A Better 3-Star
Our travel agent in Muscat recommended this one, and I can but second his opinion. Located very conveniently in the heart of Deira on the north side of the Creek, it's modest price belies its long list of services.
The room itself wasn't huge, but it was thoroughly adequate for our needs. It had a mini-fridge - unstocked - a mirrored closet, TV with some satellite channels, and a huge bathroom. Incredibly, it even had a fully-stocked amenities basket with comb -- and very surprisingly -- toothbrushes and toothpaste, which is quite unusal. Last but not least, they even provided two pairs of slippers, a first in a three-star in our experience.
All this said, if you stay here, make certain you are on either the fifth or sixth floor because there are two night clubs/discos on the main floor that go until 3:00 a.m. with music blasting away all night long. We were up top; a German couple we met at breakfast -- also included, by the way -- weren't so lucky and spent an absolutely miserable night.
At just under US$60 a night, this was a real bargain and I'd give it 4 out of 5.
Unique Quality: Three stars don't usually have pools or saunas. This one does. The pool is situated up on the roof, so you even get free views of the city as well.

3* Hotel in Deira
The Orchid Hotel is a 3* hotel in the Deira area of Dubai, owned by the Golden Fork restaurant chain of the Phillippines.
It is located a two minute walk from the Clock Tower roundabout, a short walk from the bustling restaurants of Al-Rigga Road, a ten minute walk from the creekside and a short taxi ride (5 minutes) from both the airport and Dubai's largest shopping mall, the Deira City Centre.
There is a Golden Fork restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel, while the first floor possesses an African nightclub, a Filipino nightclub and the Tavern pub. I chose the latter, where Heineken and Carlsberg are available on draught for a reasonable 13 UAE Dirhams (about 2.20GBP).
The rooms are average sized and comfortably furnished. All rooms are en-suite, with clean bathrooms and daily maid service. The rooms have (much needed) air conditioning, a fridge and satellite TV. The rooms do not, however, have balconies.
The hotel offers a free shuttle service to the beach, the airport and the shopping malls.
Unique Quality: The hotel is ideally located and offers fantastic facilities which far exceed those offered by 3* hotels in other countries that I have visited.
The price is very reasonable too. However, it is cheaper to book via a travel company (I used www.octopustravel.com) than to book directly with the hotel.
