Lovely place for couples
We stayed for 5 nights at the Palace for my 40th birthday. Now we have been very fortunate to have stayed in some of the worlds best hotels over the years (mainly in the far east) so can compare this hotel with others in the same league. The hotel grounds, rooms, pools (one very large pool plus a smaller one) restaurants, etc are all beautiful. The staff we're wonderful and always willing to help, think we only opened a door to any of the restaurants just once as there was always someone waiting (you can become very lazy here). Breakfast had plenty of choice and was of a very high standard, the fresh fruit was amazing! Eggs cooked to your liking and they even had bacon and HP brown sauce! We stayed in a standard deluxe room which was very, very nice. Plenty of space and all mod-cons including a large flat panel TV built into the wall. The bathroom had separate bath, toilet and shower which was one of the best showers we've ever used. The hotel is designed with an Arabian style mixed in with a blend of new. Its only 5 floors high which makes a nice change from all the sky-scrapers surrounding it. We had dinner 2 nights at the beach grill and it was very nice, the steak I had tasted spot-on. There we're a few families with kids but I would say this hotel is really just for couples, it would make a great honeymoon hotel. The hotel very kindly gave me a beautiful cake for my birthday along with a polo shirt and a lovely cook book (which I passed onto the wife ;-)) along with birthday cards. There are some negatives that I think the hotel should address, the first is there is no free Wi-Fi any where in the hotel! In this day and age every 3 star and above hotel should really offer free Wi-Fi and most do so why you can't have it at a five star hotel is beyond me??? The other thing is the price of alcoholic drinks, now everyone knows Dubai is a Muslin state and drinking is only available in the hotels so you expect to pay a premium. But the price the hotel charges are just simply extortionate!! One small bottle or can (half a pint) of beer is £7+, that's £14+ a pint!! The same beer can be purchased from the airport when you land for less than £1 per can/bottle! So stock up there. Overall our short break was wonderful, The hotel was everything we hoped for and more. Dubai is a great destination, even if it is expensive compared to the UK. If the hotel would be sensible with the drink price's and start to offer free Wi-Fi it would have received top marks all round.
Highly recommended.
P.S, expect to pay around £17 (85AED) for the taxi from the airport to the hotel.
Unique Quality: Great design and fantastic pool.

4.5 Star Resort Hotel
The One and Only Royal Mirage is in the best location for those looking for a perfect balance of a beach resort and city shopping. The beach is quite beautiful, for Dubai, but in May the water was already almost hot, not refreshing. The pool is the place to hang. You will have 3 pools to choose from and 3 places for the inclusive breakfast. The ambience has arabian charm unlike some of the other cosmopolitan hotels which make you feel like you are in New York. The service is inconsistent from great to awful, resulting in mediocre. The employee training is way behind the Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton.
Unique Quality: The Sheesha Bar at the Arabian Courtyard is really nice.

Beautiful resort hotel
I did not stay here but went for a drink/coffee a couple of times. Royal Mirage (in the Jumeirah/Dubai Marina area) is gorgeous and perfect for anyone looking for a tranquil stay in the sun. It's part of "The One and Only" chain, which is ultra-luxurious, but extremely expensive. The hotel comes complete with its own beach, pool and restaurants.

Possibly the best hotel in the world
I stopped at the Royal Mirage as part of my honeymoon in 2004, and without a doubt , the hotel provides the best service of any hotel I have ever stopped at.
We arrived at 05.00 on a Sunday morning and arranged for a hotel pick up. We were met in arrivals at DXB and escorted to our car ( a gold mercedes G Wagen). The driver provided an excellent commentray on the journey to the hotel.
The service at the Palace is excellent, nothing is too much trouble for the young but very polite staff. The rooms are cleaned twice a day. In the evenings, the sheets, slippers and a short verse are prepared for your return.
In the daytime, the pool bar staff provide a flow of cold drinking water, and other refreshments for consumption.
The One and Only complex has a number of resturants and bars. The ones to note are the Morrocan restuarant in the Palace and the rooftop bar in the Arabian Court. Food and drinks were fantastic.

The most romantic place in Dubai
A beautiful place to be, excellent for honeymooners...it brings me so many great memories..hope I will go there again soon! We haven't stayed here, just came to see the hotel ( I am a travel agent) and we ended up by having an unexpected dinner at the Beach Bar&Grill. The service and the food were excellent , but what I loved the most was that it was a very very romantic place. So we made reservation for another dinner in our last night there! It also has a lot of restaurants and bars where you find yourself losing the track of time....
Unique Quality: As I have seen the resort, it has a big and very beautiful swimming pool, with discreet and private "tents" for people who want more privacy. The view is also great magnificent, especially in the sunset time.

Stay international
The Royal Mirage is my favorite hotel in Dubai, it's very expensive and is the probably one of the most stunning hotels you'll ever see here. Lavish, stylishly Morocon, stunning beaches and just out of this world. A must stay for honeymooner's.
It is a bit out of the way and getting back into town takes about 20mins by cab, but it's worth it. Unlike alot of the other hotels in Dubai they haven't "over cooked" the decor so its beautiful. However pls make sure if you stay anywhere else it is an international hotel and has a website. If is it doesn't your likely to end up in some brothel in downtown Dubai which can be quite nasty!
And don't be fooled, this is a muslim country but downtown Dubai, Bur Dubai, is Russian hoar hell as soon as the sun goes down. This does not effect life here in gerneral, but unless you want it slapped in your face 24/7 then ake my advice, DONT stay in any hotel if its not on the Sheikh Zayed Road, or somewhere in Jumeriah. If the accomadation is boasting Creek views or city life then save your time and just say "NO".
Unique Quality: Views are stunning, beaches gorgeouse and decor to die for.

One of the best five-stars
by colin_bramso about The One & Only Royal Mirage
The hotels in Dubai are amongst the best in the world. In the city, stay at any overlooking the creek...the Sheraton or Inter-Continental are ideal. On the beach strip one of the best of the 5-star hotels is The One & Only Royal Mirage. Low rise, modelled on traditional buildings in landscaped gardens. Wonderful design and attention to detail. Absolutely top class true 5 star luxury.
Somewhere slightly more stylish than average
by Aphro about Royal Mirage
Moorish style architecture on the Sufoh beach strip of hotels. There is the The One and Only Royal Mirage (the original), The Arabian Court and The Residence and Spa. Owned by Sun City group I believe, if that gives you a clue to the kind of over-the-top luxury it might offer! More interesting than your average bog-standard chain 5star property. Very good food and beverage, but expensive. Beach Grill is gorgeous! Givency Spa (if you can afford it) Kasbar nightclub, v posh and popular with mostly Lebanese & Arab expat crowd. Dress to impress or you won't get in.

Though we didn't stay there, this hotel is well worth a visit. Built with the theme of Oasis, it gives off an air of oriental mystery. Driving up, you will pass lush landscaping with fowers in full bloom. If you arrive at night, the beauty of the light-up hotel-complex is stunning. This hotel is truly beautiful and shouldn't be missed.

Before coming to Dubai find out about getting married in Dubai and getting it certified. If you are coming down on a tourist visa then it may be something complicated. find out from the officials in your native country about procedures related to marriage in Dubai and how you can make it certified. I wish you well and a happy wedding.

Hmmmm. The wedding photos will have to be expertly taken to avoid the monstrosity of the Palm Island construction site unless you want to show your friends where half the England football team hope to live when the builders have left in another 2 years or so! Having said that, the hotel and grounds are truly magnificent.
The wedding service in the church (at Jebel Ali - about 5 km from the main beach hotel strip) is identical to one you would have anywhere else.
For restaurants take a look at http://www.timeoutdubai.com/ if you are looking for somewhere other than in the Royal Mirage.
As for tips, whatever hotel you choose, there should be a dedicated wedding planner to advise you on all points. Best to pick a hotel and get in touch with their planner.

Hi
Getting married at the Royal Mirage sounds perfect. Especially when the person is as wonderful as you.
If the Royal Mirage is full, dusty, noisey or closed, I would marry you in the desert under a cactus.
I love you

The nearest thing we have to cacti in the desert here are called "Sodom's Apple". Good luck with the wedding.

Hi there, just read your question... Firstly Congrats!
Secondly i wud advise u to hire a wedding planner. Although hotels have wedding planners.. they only assist with preparations within the hotel. I am to be married in December and have hired a planner. She has really been a great help and has arranged for everything. from clothes to taransportation to reception. Dubai has alot of event organisers but planners specialising in weddings are extremely few. If you wish to hire Malaika her contact no# +971 50 7885067
