Think twice about this!

We got offered this place because of late changes to flight schedules and unavailability elsewhere. Oh boy!!!
If you want a choice of four discos / nightclubs roaring on to 4am this could be the place for you. The clientele even throw in a horn concerto at 4:10 am to ensure that you know that they're leaving! DON'T ACCEPT A FRONT ROOM IF YOU WANT A NIGHT'S SLEEP.
The main breakfast room is in a room called the Cafe something or other and they've got that bit right - I ate in better greasy spoons when I was "on the thumb" in my younger days! It was authentic leatherette high back seats round the outside and traditional transport caff chairs and tables.
To top all of that there's no real alternative eating places for a couple nearby. The area is very popular with migrant workers and there's rarely a lady to be seen, all of which makes for an uncomfortable evening for females. I did read beforehand that the hotel has a pool - it doesn't. It claims it has a minibar in rooms - er like one large bottle of water.
Friendly advice - avoid this place.

Hotel Palm Beach Rotana Inn

by Yxplika

I have booked the hotel Palm Beach Rotana Inn on Kahlid ibn al Waleed Road to stay in Dubai for a week in January. Would someone be so kind and tell me if it is a normal place and location in Bur Dubai to stay? Or should I change it to Bradway Residence?

Hi,
January is a good time to stop on Dubai. good choice.

well about the hotel as you mentioned it is in Khalid bin al waleed street, mainly this street is full of computer shops and banks (well known for that) , however, you will be near Burjman shopping center and mina bazzar also it is near Shandagah (tradional village). There is a traffic in this road cuz it takes to Al maktoom bridge. It is a 3 star hotel without recareation facilties (thats what i read about it) . overall the location is good, not that bad.

Bradway is also in the same location i guess and it is Savoy hotel apartments it is located in the centre of the commercial hub of Bur Dubai. It is within easy walking distance of the popular Bur Juman Shopping Mall, a large number of banks, international cuisine restaurants, and the Fahidi Street shopping district.

as long as it is the same location i do not think you should bother, personally i did not try any one of them given that am a national ;) , but the locations is fine , you will have to take taxi if you are going to the other side of Dubai, and this is ok.

wish you a happy stay
amna

Despite it's title, it's nowhere near the beach - and Port Rashid nearby is not much to look at. But it's a reasonable hotel - I would stick with your choice. If you were planning on a beach holiday, have a look at some of the UK website deals - currently 300-500 pounds for a week in 5star beach hotels (like Jumeirah Beach Hotel) including flights from UK. Have fun!

I agree with both #1 and # 2. That hotel is situated in a prime location and everything is near by. Jumeira beach around 10min drive, shopping malls walking distance. Bus stands etc.
Have fun, jan is a beautiful time to be in dubai.
