Bur Dubai hotel
For a cheap hotel it was ok, the staff was friendly and service minded. The hotel is small and clean, some parts of the hotel and the room we were could be better.
The hotel restaurant was a bit up and down sometimes the food took long time to show up even drinks but general was ok. Breakfast was better than we were waiting for and they change some of food during the week.
If you don't want to waste mutch this is your hotel.
This zone of the city is known for the "ladies" that go around and you can see some of them by the hotel at evening take that in mind.
Unique Quality: The best way to describe the hotel is if you are always out doing something because it was a lot of noise from outside traffic and the air-condition, so outstanding characteristics in this hotel I didn't find

Hotel Broker
Does anybody know a decent hotel booking website, where I can book a hotel in Dubai at good rates?
I have tried Hotels.com but they have very high prices.

I would use the services of a gentleman called Trevor at Airlink in Dubai. His email is: trevor@airlinkdubai.ae
Trevor takes care of most of my overseas bookings and gets me great rates
He is out of the country at the moment but should be back before the end of the month.
If all else fails I would just email the hotels directly. A bit more work but it might be worth it.

I often use southtravel on internet. I paid US$68 for a great double room at the Panorama Hotel (Bur Dubai) recently. They just need a credit card number.

We've found good rates in the past from www.hotels-of-dubai.com cheaper than we could get direct from the hotels.
Dubai hotels are not cheap by the way, from any source.

When we first stayed in the UAe 7 years ago, Dubai hotel prices were very reasonable. I remember paying only £45 a night for 3 of us in a 5 star hotel in Downtown Dubai. 3 years ago we stopped staying in Dubai/Sharjah/Ajman as the hotel prices were getting silly.
I checked recently and our first hotel in Dubai now charges over £140 a night for 2 people! Now we stay either in Dibba (Meridian hotel) or in Fujairah (Hilton). Further away, yes, but a lot cheaper.

Thank you Dave, you are absolutely right over the past 5 years the hotel prices have rocketed in Dubai. A lot of new hotels are being built so hopefully the prices will normalize. Can’t wait :-)
