We booked a twin studio and as it was budget accomodation expected it to be shabby, but we were pleasantly surprised. Not only was the place better equipped than we expected, with a washing machine and DVD player, it was also nice and clean. The room was more than adequate, the only omission being table and chairs on the balcony - although there is no view it is nice to sit outside in the morning or evening.
Plus points include:
Location - easy walking distance of Dubai Creek and taxis always easy to flag down outside. Also several restaurants close by and supermarket and pharmacy next door.
Cleanliness
Equipment - washing machine, satellite TV (albeit limited channels), DVD, iron & ironing board, two burner hob, fridge, etc.
Amenities - in house pizzeria which delivers to the room, internet terminals, pool, sauna and small gym
Minus points:
Hotel foyer and elevator smelly courtesy of the pizza joint
Grumpy porter. Reception staff were okay. Room attendant was very friendly.
Ceramic flooring everywhere means some sounds such as chairs being dragged by neighbours upstairs are not absorbed.
Remember this is a budget hotel so don't expect five star facilities.
The main thing about this place is it is a good base for exploring Dubai and you have the ability to cook food and wash your clothes in your room.
The most important thing for me is cleanliness, and the room was indeed very clean and quite comfortable.
