I recently spent 3 nights at this hotel and had a great experience. The staff is really friendly and accomodating, always ready to help with requests. Rooms are spotless and the en suite bathroom does not have the cramped feel that I have noticed in some other low- mid range Dubai hotels. Also this hotel is right in the center of things as far as Dubai is concerned and you can get just about anywhere in a taxi in about 10-15 minutes. It should also be noted that because of the high concentration of hotels along Khalid bin Walid Road, there are many bars and restaurants within walking distance. It seems to me that this hotel mainly appeals to a younger crowd. I did not see any guests that appeared to be past their early to mid 30's.
Unique Quality: This hotel has a great Irish pub called Waxy O'Connor's (which also serves food), as well as a Russian restaurant and a Japanese Restaurant. The food at the hotel is good and the pub always seems to be packed in the evenings. The hotel also offers satellite TV and complimentary toiletry items you may have forgotten such as combs and razors.
First, the good points of which there aren't that many. The hotel itself is well located with it only being about a 10 minute walk to the creek, electronics shops and the bus station. And that's really about it for the good points. Oh breakfast was pretty OK. Now the bad points. The room I had was a little shabby with paint off the walls and other markings on the walls. Bathroom and the room itself were fairly clean but my biggest problem came every night when Russian cosack dancers would send shouders down to my room and I was on the 3rd floor (the dancing starts at about 10pm and lasts till about 2am on the top floor restaurant). God only knows what it was like for people staying right below. I constantly phoned every night to get them to stop but no. On the last night there I got so angry that I broke the phone! So, please be warned. Get a room at least on the first floor and also towards the back of the hotel.
How can i find a no frills comfortable and clean hotel in Bur Dubai, close to the textile souk.
Dubai is one of the most expensive cities for hotel accommodation!! Your best choice would be to visit some local travel agents in your area and inquiring the lowest rates they have on hotels in Bur Dubai.
