Taxi fare

by jwilliams2005

Good evening, Does anyone know approximately how much it cost to travel from central Deidra, Dubai to the grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi?

Re: Taxi fare

Well by a Taxi it could cost something from 260 to 310 AED.
By bus it would be much cheaper suppose about 80 AED!!

Renting a car would be best for one who can do it!!

Thanks for you reply. Do the rental cars have GPS? I have been to Duabi several times and it would be difficult for me without GPS. I plan to take pictures at the magnificent Grand Mosque, and then have lunch at the Yacht Club, Intercontenental hotel.

Well yes,

Much appreciated. I will rent a car and enjoy the adventure of driving in Dubai. Thank you for your replies.

You welcome. If you arrive to Dubai Airport, then Hertz rent a car is available for choosing whatever car you require.
Good luck.

Thank you very much for the information that you provided. The car rental and GPS was only $65.00(USD) per day, but I had a change in schedule, and because of time constraints ended up hiring a driver. I was also too tired to drive and this was a good decision for me. I got to take pictures of the Grand Mosque and the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi. I will post the photos soon. Again, I appreciate you taking the time to assist me. Your friend and fellow traveler..James

James happy to hear that it all went well. In Dubai, having the correct change you can get anything at its best!! So you ended up hiring a driver :-)
Take care and good luck.

The best thing to do is travel to Bur Dubai bus station and catch a bus going to Abu Dhabi.

From Abu Dhabi bus station, catch local taxi to the Mosque is cheaper and easer.

Taking taxi directly from Dubai will cost you around 200 300 AED. 200AED = 55 USD) 300 AED cost 82 USD: Bus fair cost 30 AED = 8.2 USD.

Travel Tips for Dubai

Beautiful & amazing buildings

by EmilianoCV

The architecture of Dubai is something that amazed me. Everything is brand new, no history at all: I found whatever you can not find in Europe, and that was such an excellent contrasting experience.

Smoking

by Gard

Smokers seem to have found their place in Dubai. In Norway there are lots of rules on where you can smoke and not and most people follow these rules. As a non-smoker I don’t really think much about it because most places where I go I don’t have to deal with it. But it was a bit different in Dubai. First of all smoking was allowed in public places like the mall. In some areas there were signs saying something like “We thank you for not smoking”. But these signs just seemed like requests not actual rules that had to be followed. One day at a mall I was in the toilet washing my hands. And in the mirror I could see cigarett smoke coming up from one of the cubicals. And when his cell phone rang at the same time the situation got even funnier

So far from Dubai city center

by BorneoGrrl about Ibn Battuta Mall

The Ibn Battuta Mall is situated over half hour from Dubai city center along the Sheikh Zayed Road and is a unique shopping mall. The building is divided into six courts, namely the Andalusian Court, the North African Court, the Egyptian Court, the Persian Court, the Indian Court and the Chinese Court that are decorated according to their themes.

There are many stores to shop from but you won't fine the luxury boutiques. Debenhams, Bhs & Woolsworth are some of the anchor tenants. 21 screen megaplex and Dubai's first IMAX cinema will entertain the kids while the moms shop. For grocery shopping, the Geant hypermart will satisfy the family's needs.

The creek

by xaver

My eevenings at creek's bars and restaurants are probably the thing I miss most of Dubai.
It's a very quiet area where you can sit in very confortable chairs or sofa watching the sea, drinking something and smoking shisha.
You cannot have alcohl as it is usually sold only in hotels but seafood is excellent and the atmosphear all lets you relax and enjoy a part of real Dubai life, infact this is the only place in the town where I noticed a high percentual of locals. Whatever, just consider that it's pretty windy at least in february when we came.

Taxis in Dubai

by Erkmen

When you are in Dubai, suppose the only way to travel is to use Taxis.. The buses are hard to follow and not very often..

Do not afraid to get on a taxi in Dubai. As the fuel is very cheap, that reflects the costs as well. I paid 2-3 dollars for many places..

Most of the taxis are Toyota Camry, a good and climatised car gives a comfort in your travel. Air condition is a must in Dubai, so you will all get air conditioned taxis..

In front of some shopping centers, you can see some taxis waiting in a queu and some others which are not queud.. The ones which are not waiting in a queu are the ones without a taximeter and they may ask more money from you.. So I would advice you to wait for the queu..
