Great Experience

Nice, reasonably priced hotel on Khalid bin Walid Road. The staff is courteous and helpful and the hotel includes a nice restaurant as well as a bar and an Indian nightclub. The bar is a good place to start the evening with a couple of drinks, but there are better establishments in the area if you are looking for a crowd. Ammenities are basic, but the rooms are clean and fairly spacious. The main draw of staying here is the location, in the middle of everything, and no hassles.

Seashell Inn Hotel

Seashell Inn is an average three star hotel in Bur Dubai area where I stayed for ten days in Ramadan. The hotel has 85 standard and 15 executive rooms. There are also 5 executive suites. Executive floor has its own reception and business center.

I was on Emirates package so just had to pay $40 per night for standard room otherwise their rack rates were $150 for single room at that time.

Their service & food standard as well quality is really bad. Reception staff is not so efficient and some times rude too. I was victim of racism too which I do not really appreciate.

They have Indian speciality restaurant "Daawat" which has a bit better food but with very high prices. The sports pub "Winners" has unpleasant and confusing interior. Here you can play indorr games, watch TV or drink whatever you want. There is an age limit for entry to pub.

There is a night club cum grill room named "American Dream" . Food in all of their restaurants is extremely expensive.

Unique Quality: Their rooms are comfortable and of good size. All latest facilities are provided like individual control AC, digi safe, IDD telephone, mini bar, dressing table and TV with ten satellite channels. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained with decent amenities.

Complimentary services of gym, sauna, steam bath and swimming are provided at hotel's luxury "Pearl Residence" apartments. There is shuttle service after every 30 minutes for these fitness facilities. Hotel guests are also provided complimentary pick n drop at Jumairah Beach Park.

Hotel is 15 minute drive from airport. Complimentary pick and drop is provided if requested.

Electronics Market in Bur Dubai

by najamrulz

Dubai is ideal place for electronics shopping. There is great variety of electronic items available. You name it and you have it...

Electronics market in Bur Dubai is the right place for your electronics shopping needs. It is located on Khalid Bin Al Waleed Road , opposite Sea Shell Inn Hotel.

Electronics items are also available in Dubai Duty Free Shop at airport but those are on fixed price basis. Also prices are a bit high over there.

You would have to bargain a lot to get the best deal in electronics market of Bur Dubai. So keep yourself prepared for that. Happy Shopping!!!

Seashell Inn

by bluesmanp

Hi,
Asked yesterday Emirate Airlines for a nice 4* 3-Nights-Stop-Over Hotel.
The only thing I got (everything else booked out) is the Seashell Inn.
How is this hotel and the surroundings?
How are the public beaches on weekends?
Thanks for help.

Hi!

The SeaShell Inn is one of your "cheap & cheerful" options in Dubai city.
From what I've heard, it's alright. Nothing fancy. But OK overall.
The area, well - it's Bur Dubai, so you may come across some "working ladies of the night" wandering the streets.
But just hop into a taxi or ignore them if you don't wish to be hassled.
It's on "Computer Street" in Bur Dubai: you're close to Dubai Museum, Textile Souk, Bur Juman Shopping Mall, Shindagha Heritage Village, and of course: computer shops!

There's not many public beaches left in Dubai, as the huge development has cause most stretches of beach to be taken-over by the large hotel resorts... the entrance-fee to lie at their beaches can be very high. Therefore, most open beache are very crowded on the weekends, and you have to get there early to reserve a spot for yourself.

There are, however, a few open beaches left:
- next to Dubai Marine Beach Resort & Spa (opposite Jumeirah Mosque) has palm trees for shade, showers & children's play area
- Jumeirah Beach Park (Entrance fee: Dhs 5.- Saturdays is Ladies Day. Gets extremely full on Fridays) has palm trees for shade, showers, small cafe and play area for kids
- public beach near former Wollongong University, towards Umm Suqeim (no palm trees or shade or facilities)
- public beaches behind Jebel Ali (longer drive) no palm trees or shade or facilities

Hope this helps!

Hi there,
As my dear friend Jess mentioned Seashell Inn is a good hotel to stay in a stop over. Its a 3 star hotel located in Khaled Bin Waled Street (Computer Street :-)
The good thing is that the hotel has got courtesy transfers to various locations and maybe public beaches, so as soon as checking in ask for the timing and locations of transfers and for sure you can use it to your advantage to go and see many places. For some extra information about the hotel check the following URL:

Good luck.

The Seashell Hotel is in an OK location. See if you can get a room in Sofitel or Rihaab Rotana. They may be a bit more in price but you will be in the city centre and there is a huge mall connected to Sofitel. Passing your spare time and getting your shopping done will be a bit easier from there. You can get to almost anywhere in dubai from there in about 15 to 45 mins. The beach you want to visit is the jumeirah beach which is moderately crowded at this time of the year. Let me know if you need any help!
