Sheraton Jumeirah

stayed at the Sheraton Jumeirah hotel for 10 nights in May 2003. Although I had a bad incident on the third day, all in all, I spent a wonderful and relaxing time here...especially the last week.

When I arrived, the whole hotel was reserved, and so they gave me a room on the second floor, and that looked out at the street (not the beach)..not too nice. The third day, I had an unhappy incident..someone followed me to my room. I got in safely, and called reception. They were very friendly and helpful. Next day, they had a security person on each floor, and they upgraded me to a sea view room on the 11th floor!Beautiful View :) ..and for no extra charge.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The views are beautiful. I spent a lovely day relaxing on the beach and next to the pool..and then had a nice dinner and a chicha with some friends in the evening.

You can even sit down and have a drink in the lounge while listening to someone playing on the piano...

The only bad thing about this hotel is its location...although it was 5 minutes away from DIC (which was good for my work)..it is too far away from the city center. However, they have a shuttle that goes into the city a few times per day, and which makes it convenient.

Unique Quality: - Great views
- Friendly Staff
- Nice pool and beach
- Facilities: 24/7 room service, spacious rooms, bathrobes, room internet access, satellite TV, butler service, etc.
- Shuttle service
- Delicious breakfast buffet

Luxury with a great location.

We had 3 nights in a double room with breakfast included. The rooms were wonderful, although we would have liked to have been higher up the 12 storey building (we were on the 2nd floor). The beds are as comfortable as the ads for Sheraton suggest.

The complimentary breakfast was huge and varied, and kept us going until an early evening dinner.

The shisha lounge is beautiful and very popular on weekend. The beach and pool area has been well designed and I really liked the shaded platforms that are available on the beach. No sand on your towel, matress to lie on, but you can still feel the breeze and hear the sea.

Unique Quality: The pool and beach area is wonderful. The lobby and breakfast bar are beautifully designed.

The hotel is quite far down Jumeirah beach which gives it a quieter location and more exclusive beach.

Jumeirah Beach Accommodations

Nice spot to stay in, friendly staff. I somehow got hooked up with a free cab ride from the hotel to school the next morning (I stayed there because it was relatively close to University, and I had never been to Dubai prior to coming here).

Unique Quality: Solid view of the Gulf, great spot out back to smoke shisha. Standard 5 star accommodation, really. Don't drink out of the mini-bar!!!!!!!!!! 12 dirhams for a Coca-Cola is ridiculous; you can get them for 1 dirham at the 24-7 market in nearby Dubai Media City.

More about Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort & Towers

The hotels in Dubai are the best.

by colin_bramso

The hotels in Dubai are the best in the world. In the city, stay at any overlooking the creek...the Sheraton Dubai Creek or Inter-Continental are ideal. If you have a car, the One & Only Royal Mirage a few kilometres out of town on the beach is superb (see photo).
But then when we visited on holiday we stayed a month, so we rented a self-catering apartment. Although obviously it wasn't as luxurious, it gave us everything we needed plus the advantage of being able to prepare our own meals and entertain friends. Much better than having to eat out every meal. For longer stays we've found that's a better alternative.

Dubai --- Creekside Sheraton

Dubai --- Creekside Sheraton
Meridian Nr the Airport
Park Hotel Sheik Zayed Road
Bahrain--- Meridian
Charlton
Gulf Gate
See my notes above.Cheap accomodation is available but needs to be looked at closely in regard to quality and the area of location Most good accomodation in the Gulf is expensive.Expect to pay on a one night basis around 100 pounds per night.Usually this does not include breakfast.Rates are cheaper booked in advance from UK or where-ever.
Nearly all top hotels have recreational facilities and in Dubai most of the top 4 an 5 star hotels are on the beach or have acess to the beach
In Bahrain only one hotel is on the beach Meridian. The remainder are all inland and mostly on the island of Manama

Beach View

by TomorrowsAngel about Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort & Towers

We stayed here for 2 nights in August 2005. Didn't get off to a great start with no transport arranged to pick us up (travel agent's fault). But AED60 later and we were there.
The room was big, with nice decor and a large bathroom.
The TV had interactive email which was expensive, but fast, and the information services were good.
The hotel buffet breakfast was good - lots of fresh fruit, cereals, omelette/pancake chef, arabic food and american breakfast.
Only other facility we used was the pool - temperature-controlled, so pleasantly cool. Just a standard Sheraton Resort - good quality with good value for money.

Beach Retreat

by RaVenSymPhoNie about Sheraton Jumeirah

The Sheraton Jumeirah is a 4-star hotel located on the far west end of Jumeirah Hotel.

The Sheraton Jumeirah is VERY FAR from everything else in comparison to other hotels. There was a promotion going on when I stayed there because of construction on the way to the hotel. It is not a big deal if you rent a car (about 25-30USD/day), which we did, and it helped us to learn the city better.

The Sheraton Jumeirah has everything a standard 4-star has to offer and then some. There is a luxury jewelry store on site, as well as a beauty salon, a day spa, beach and souvenir store, and multiple restaurants. There is also complimentary currency exchange available on-site. I believe Thursday is a free BBQ and music party, which is a nice extra.

What they offer that is really cool is the Extended Stay Weekend. They allow you to stay in your room until Monday at 10pm, which was great for me because I had an early evening flight. This saved me some money. The breakfast is also included with the room. Rooms:
I got the lowest priced room I could find on expedia.com, and it was beautiful. They are spacious and full of light. The rooms have a French Country motif with beautiful amber wood and marble bathrooms. Satellite TV comes with it, and they bring you a fresh complimentary fruit basket upon request. Room service is great too.

Beauty Salon and Spa:
These are separate services independently located. I got a leg and bikini wax, and a pedicure at the salon. The lady was very friendly and eager to please, but she butchered my bikini wax!
The Spa is unbelievable. I got the facial and massage. The treatments were meant to be relaxing more than anything else. The therapist was very professional; the area was calm and beautiful, with great lighting and soft music. Seven months later, I still think about it.

Exercise Room:
...like a Bally's, no kidding. State of the art equipment and the cardio machines face a wall to wall window overlooking the beach huts.

Asian Restaurant:
High class atmosphere with attentive staff. I had Pad Thai, and spring rolls. Neither were that great. Sake was good as always.(-:
...there are at least 2 other restaurants on site that I didn't try.

Pool:
Fantastic landscaping--waterfall included. I hung out in the kiddy pool after dark to relax.
There's also a poolside bar.

Beach:
Breathtaking...clean...oh, and there are these grass top hut covered beds on the lawn on the way to the beach for lounging.

Continental Breakfast:
One of the best I've seen. They have great peach and pear pancakes. There's a chef to prepare your eggs to order, and he had conversations with other guests in 4 other languages while I waited for my egg white omelet! There's smoked salmon, all kinds of fruits, and Arab, European, and American breakfast staples.

One more thing...this hotel is very romantic and slightly secluded. So if you're single and partying every night, you may want to stay at a hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road.

Don't go too far

by acabgd

I miss the old Chicago Beach hotel and old Dubai in general. Once upon a time the Chicago Beach was actually the last hotel on the Jumeirah beach strip coming from Dubai. It was all nice and quiet and desert around it, so you felt a little (well, a little bit more) secluded from the city chaos.

Nowadays the Jumeirah beach is actually closer to the city than most of other hotels. It's still a fine choice, but try to get a room on one of the lower floors with the balcony. DON'T get that if you're visiting during the summer months, as you will not be able to use it at all.

Furthermore, don't chose a hotel further away then, say, the Sheraton Jumeirah. All the rest are simply too far away from the city and should not be considered to be "in Dubai" at all.

Great Hotel, Friendy Staff,

by TripAdvisor Member JayJayCee

Just returned from a 5 day break in this hotel. Before going i checked other reviews and was a little concerned by the building work going on. On arrival, it looked just as i expected. However once inside the hotel the building work had no impact whatsoever. We had a land facing room (no balcony) and faced away from the building work, not the prettiest of views : power station in distance, but for the time spent in our room, we were happy to save £125 by not upgrading (room 106).
The room was lovely, it looked recently decorated and was spacious enough for the two of us. We had everything we needed, tv, minibar etc.

We found the staff in the hotel couldn't have been more helpful or friendly, and nothing seemed to much bother (waiters bringing drinks to your sunbed on the beach, the life guard fixing your parasol and putting your towel on the sunbed etc), equally they were very attentive during breakfast, which did get busy.

The location of the hotel is at the end of Jumeriah beach, for us we didn't find a problem. Taxis are easy to get and reasonably cheap. It took about 15 - 20 mins max to get to the city centre. If you want to be nearer stay in the city, we wanted a beach holiday with the city nearby.

Whilst lying at the pool it was possible to hear some noise from the building work, but it was minimal. When down at the beach you didn't notice it. We preferred the beach, beautiful white sand and clear warm water.

To summarise, a great hotel, good location for the beach and reasonably priced.

Re: 4 Points Sheraton Dubai

by JessH

The hotel is in a great location...

it will still be VERY humid in the beginning of October, and still quite hot(daytime around 36 degrees, night time around 28 degrees)... Ramadhan is currently underway and will last until approx. Oct. 11th.

To add I should say that staying there you would be very near to new Dubai and the famous Shaikh Zayed Road. The hotel should have courtesy transfers to shopping and touristic locations!!

Just don't stay in Deira. Enjoy!
