Beautiful Hotel, Wonderful Location

I can't honestly say there was anything I was not happy with, we were only there 3 nights but will return. To be able to see the Danncing Waters from our Balcony was a plus. To have Duai Mall at our Door virtually was so easy, especially as the heat was opressive. Next time I will go in the cooler months. Taxi's are well priced and for other things we wanted to see that were not handy it was only a taxi ride away.

Unique Quality: Wonderful staff that could not do enough to help you.

Posh Hotel near Burj Khalifa

We stayed here for two nights in October 2010 in a deluxe fountain view room for approx US $400/night. The hotel looks beautiful and the room was really big and nicely decorated. Service was less than satisfactory, as we had to wait for about 25 minutes to be checked in. There were 10 porters waiting around in the drive thru. A staff member welcomed us at the front door and seated us on a lounge several meters from the single check-in desk, gave us some juice, then 2 or 3 sheik-looking-people were checked in ahead of us (even though it looked like they arrived AFTER us). We decided to eat at the extremely expensive Argentinian restaurant (approx US $80 per steak) as a treat ... and the food was good ... but when we arrived on time for our 10pm booking (to get a good view of the fountain) ... they had us wait at the bar for 25 minutes, then seated us at a table with a huge pillar blocking view of the fountain. The food took FOREVER to arrive. While checking out, the staff member decided to charge our credit card even though we said we'd settle the account with cash (had it in hand) ... then giggled and said she'd reverse the charge. She did that and now I'm chasing a reimbursement for the commission charged by the credit card company.

We stayed at the Mina a Salam at Jumeirah Beach in 2007 ... the room costed less and everything was MUCH nicer ... recommend going there instead of the Palace.

Unique Quality: The fountain show runs every 30 minutes and is pretty cool but you can see that as a visitor via the Dubai Mall. Best place to watch the show is from TGI Fridays balcony on the 3rd floor.

Hi there,
Never heard of Time Palace Hotel, but maybe a good hotel for family.
For your shopping needs try carrefour in Deira City Center, they have a big electronic section. For some genuine sightseeing and travel tips go to the following URL:

Good luck and happy travel.

Hi Mal,
Well after a quick search I noticed that Time Palace hotel do exist but since it is not very famous there is not much about it on the net. If you know how to book the hotel then do it, because this days hotel rooms are all occupied. Almost all of the hotels are well enough for a family in the sense of safety just take usual precautions as you are in a new country.
Visa on arrival depends on your nationality, also you may receive a visa if you fly to Dubai by Emirates Airline. The travel agent which is going to sell you the air tickets can give you more information.
My email is on Vt and you know how to use it :-)

Wish you a safe trip and a happy family holiday.
Amir
