"Short Brief About Seven Emirates"
Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi is the largest of all seven emirates with an area of 67,340 square kilometers. Architecturally speaking the city is also a fascinating place where older buildings such as small mosques have been preserved and sit comfortably in the shade of futuristic modern skyscrapers. It is the center of government and business life in the UAEanother interesting part of Abu Dhabi is Al Ain. Al Ain is also known as "The Garden City Of The Gulf". It is surrounded by magnificent red sand dunes and overlooked by an impressive mountain range.
It offers a green view in the dessert. There are several interesting places in Al Ain, such as Jabeel Hafeet, a beautiful high land where you can enjoy the aerial scenery from the top of the hill. Al Ain zoo, museums, archeological sites, etc. Al Ain is “tourist friendly”. Once you arrive in Al Ain, there are road signs that leads the visitor to several interesting points in Al Ain.
Dubai
Dubai is the second largest Emirates. It is a melting pot of UAE, where you can find almost all nationalities here. Dubai has one of the busiest international airport in the world and also become the heart of UAE business and trading place.
Dubai has many “impossible projects” and the government make it becomes true.
Burj Dubai (the tallest tower in history), Hidropolis (a hotel under water), the World (man made island) are few of phenomenal projects which start immediately in Dubai.
Dubai has a long list places to visit. A modern architecture such as Burj Al Arab (the only seven stars in the world), Emirates Tower, Madinat Jumeirah, Palm Islands, Dubai Internet City, etc are few of interesting architectural places to visit. The city is a combination of modern and old traditional Arabic culture.
But for most people, apart of beautiful beaches, fancy hotels, a great nightlife, Dubai has offered several places for shopping. And it’s difficult to keep your credit card stay still in the wallet in the shopping festival seasons. Mind your credit card limit, my dear Fellows :)
(More about Dubai, Please check my Dubai page)
Fujairah
Fujairah has several archaeological sites and an impressive fort. It is located in the Western part of the Arabian Peninsula facing the Coast of Oman. The area is a combination of desert, mountains and coasts . Fujairah has several beautiful beaches and it’s a great weekend gate away from the bustling city. Its clean beaches, the numerous water sports like swimming, yachting, water surfing and deep sea fishing attract tourists all round the year. Fujairah is reached by one and half hour driving from Dubai. A great places to visit in Fujairah is Khor Fakkan, Dibba, Bithna, etc. Fujairah is also bordered with Oman. Musandam (Oman) is reached from Fujairah through the sea around 2 hours cruising.
Ajman
The two major regions in the emirate are Masfout, an agricultural area, lying at a distance of 110 km long at the South east, and Manama located 60 to the east. The beautiful beaches of Ajman and the cleaner and less commercialized seashores offer excellent facilities for swimmers and beach lovers.
Ras Al Khaimah
Ras Al Khaimah is located on the farthest eastern borders of the Arab World, on the Arabian Gulf. Ras Al Khaimah is also known for its scenic beauty, high mountains and the natural springs of healing hot water at Ain Khat resort.
Umm Al Quwain
Umm Al Quwain is situated between Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah on the West coast. It has long clean beaches, an enclosed lagoon and public horse riding stables. Interesting place to visit are Falaj Al-Mualla, Al Dur and the tourist center.

Accomodation for Stopover
by joshua03
Hi All,
My wife, 18 month old son and I will have two stopovers in Dubai. The first in early May we are staying only for one night and have all ready booked at Dar Al Sondos Hotel and Apartment Le Meridien complex. Our second stopover in Mid June is for 3 nights. Should we book now or would it be ok to use the first stopover to look for accomodation. How far in advance do we need to book. Also would be delighted for suggestions on where to stay ( close to the city) with a budget of no more than $100 USD
Thanks in Advance

Hi there,
Dar Al Sondos Hotel and Apartment Le Meridien is very comfortable if you like your first stay then book for your second stopover at the same place. Dubai is becoming very popular with tourists so if you have booking in advance its a big advantage. It may be difficult to find a room when its closing to the date of your travel. They have pick up and delivery service to Airport.

As Amir said, the hotels are very full for much of the year, so book well in advance.
