I've changed 3 hotel's during my first time staying in Sharijah, one of them was the Danna hotel, it sucks, the second is a 5 stars hotel called Millennium, great thing, and a wonderful most cozy and wonderful view one was the Holiday international, which I advice every traveler to stop there

Nestled at the foot of Jebel Hafit, the second-tallest mountain in the United Arab Emirates, the Ain Al Fayda Hotel is located outside of Al Ain in Abu Dhabi emirate. The hotel is operated by the Abu Dhabi National Hotels Company.

This was one of three hotels I stayed in during my trip to the United Arab Emirates. And because it is run by the government, it was the most run-down and shabby. However, my room was adequate, the food served in the restaurant was very good, and the green and cool gardens in which it is located were a welcome change from the desert.

The hotel is part of a resort town which also contains chalets, a restaurant, a coffee shop where patrons can try traditional Arabic coffee and smoke a hookah, a recreation center with a pool and bowling alley, and a pizzeria.

Located about 30 minutes north of Fujairah, and one and a half hours from Dubai, the Sandy Beach Hotel and Resort mainly caters to divers who enjoy their hobby at the Sandy Beach Diving Centre. (See my "Sports Travel" tip for more information).

The hotel features one- and two-bedroom chalets, one-bedroom bungalows, and double and twin hotel rooms. All rooms contain a private bathroom and satellite television, and the chalets also contain a kitchenette and sitting room.

The Sandy Beach Hotel and Resort is situated on a private beach on the east coast of the United Arab Emirates, where guests can sunbathe, swim, snorkel, or scuba dive. Guests can also use the temperature-controlled swimming pool, participate in various water sports, or take boating, fishing, and sightseeing tours.

The hotel's restaurant features seafood and Arabic and Continental cuisine, and the poolside bar is a good place to enjoy a cold drink after diving (or birdwatching) all day.

It can be more geared for long-term stays, but just as convenient for short-term stays. Golden Sands was great. Nice location and easy access to main thorough fares. Internet slow but free in the lobby. Front desk staff a bit surely, but so was I to be fair. (Jetlag and ALL that excitement from Kuwait, I suspect....) Still, I'd stay there again and recommend it to others. It was $75 a night and I booked it with www.booking.com

Had so many features we didn't need for a transient (one night) sleep. Would have been a delight to have needed some of them however: pool, restaurants. And in the room: fridge, washer/dryer and dishwasher. Two twin beds and a pull out couch, too! It rocked!

If you do stay here, BIG warning: There are 10+ Golden Sands Apartment buildings. Each is numbered and you can see them as you drive around them in your Expensive Cab with the meter a ticking....

Unlike US... be sure you know WHICH building you will be placed in. We were in Building Three, even though booking.com itinerary said Mankhool street. Building Three was NOT on Mankhool Street.

Or LIKE US... you'll be, not happy... and eventually ditch the cab and start walking, one by one to each building.

And it's hot, dark, you are tired, cranky and ... not happy.

We finally found it, but I know we paid a good $10 more in cab fare and ended up ditching the cab anyway.

Beach hotel in northern Emirate of Ras al Khaimah.
It is rather remote in that it is not IN Ras al Khaimah but there is a bus into the town there and they will also transport you into Dubai for shopping.
(Ras al Khaimah is a very 'traditional' emirate, with little to see although the museum is good and the hotel arranges various sight-seeing opportunities for some local colour)

    Lagoon setting, pleasant style.
Cheaper than similar properties in Dubai due to it's remote setting, this could be a bargain if you are offered it in a package tour and just want a beach holiday to soak up the sun.

    One & Only Royal Mirage
    Hotel, Dubai
    by colin_bramso
The hotels in Dubai are the best in the world. In the city, stay at any overlooking the creek...the Sheraton Dubai Creek or Inter-Continental are ideal. If you have a car, the One & Only Royal Mirage a few kilometres out of town on the beach is superb (see photo).
But then when we visited on holiday we stayed a month, so we rented a self-catering apartment. Although obviously it wasn't as luxurious, it gave us everything we needed plus the advantage of being able to prepare our own meals and entertain friends. Much better than having to eat out every meal. For longer stays we've found that's a better alternative.
