Enjoyable place in Ras Al Khaimah
by Kuznetsov_Sergey about Al Hamra Fort Hotel
5 stars Al Hamra Fort Hotel & Beach Resort is located by a natural lagoon. It is designed as a victorious Arabian Fort reviving the 1001 Arabian Nights in the style of a traditional Arabian village with wind towers.
It is located along stunning white washed beaches of Ras Al Khaimah surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens and swimming pools.
Unfortunately we stopped there not so long as we would like but we could enjoy its stunning views. You can watch my 4 min 11 sec HD Video Ras Al Khaimah Al Hamra Resort out of my Youtube channel with Walid Tawfic - Ghajaryan.
Christmas in Ras Al Khaimah
by Kuznetsov_Sergey
I traveled to the Arab Emirates on the eve of Christmas. So unusual was for me to watch a Christmas-tree and Santa Claus in a vestibule of Al Hamra Fort Hotel in Ras Al Khaimah! It was hot outside like in summer and it was very difficult to imagine that there was a lot of snow somewhere four thousand kilometers to the north in Moscow… Nevertheless Christmas-tree toys and ornaments looked very impressive there and reminded me that in a few weeks we would celebrate this holiday with our Ded Moroz in snowy Russia.

Ras Al Khaimah general background
by Kuznetsov_Sergey
The UAE consists of seven emirates, which are Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Umm al-Quwain, Ras al-Khaimah, Fujairah and Ajman. I’ve been to six of them. Ras al-Khaimah can be translated as "The Top of the Tent”. Its short name is simply RAK. It is in the southern part of the Persian Gulf.
The emirate is ruled by Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammad al-Qassimi. It is in the northern part of the UAE bordering Oman.

my husband and i spent 9 nights at one of the townhouses and although a bit small they were beautiful and spotless. The staff in both the village restuarant and pub were so nice and and friendly
the transport from townhouse to main building was excellent, you could have walked easily but it was so hot ,could not fault one thing. The Mongolian buffet was the best food i have ever tasted and the three young girls who sang their heart out in the lounge bar would put the x factor contestants to shame, some one should take simon over there and get them a contract -they so deserve it
booked with value added travel-excellent thanks ian for recommending the al hamra fort
we will be back
Great resort, great hotel

Just back from a 3 night stay at the Al Hamra Fort Hotel in Ras Al Khaimah.
After a overnight flight from London we were greeted at Dubai airport by a very cheerful man from the hotel with cold towels, water, and most importantly of all, an air conditioned bus.
It took about 45 minutes to drive from Dubai to the hotel which is only about 7 years old and very swish - the main reception has lots of comfy chairs, marble, and a lovely view.
Even though we weren't supposed to check into our room until 2pm, the hotel very kindly let us check in at 10am.
We had booked a chalet room which was huge with a king size bed, minibar, inroom safe, satellite TV and a massive bathroom with separate bath and shower, and the essential air conditioning.
RAK in June is very, very hot - it is a bit like stepping out into a sauna, but everywhere in the hotel is air conditioned.
There is a good selection of restaurants and the prices aren't too bad - we paid around £25 per head for a very nice themed buffet - it was Chinese that night but changes each night , including a drink each. Alchohol is quite expensive - around £5 for a whisky and £3 for a pint of beer - but remember this is because of the strict laws around the serving of alchohol in UAE countries. Soft drinks and water were reasonably priced - around £2 for a coke.
The hotel was extremely clean and very nicely landscaped. The sea was also beautifully clear and the beach/pool area very clean with plenty of loungers and towels provided.
The staff were very courteous and efficient and really couldn't do enough for you.
The hotel also runs a free daily shuttle bus into Dubai and another one into Ras Al Khaimah
so you can shop to your heart's content and visit the gold and spice souks.
Dubai is great for gold and electrical items - other items are pretty much what you would pay in England.
There is a lot of building work in Dubai and on the outskirts of the Al Hamra Fort in Ras Al Khaimah as a new holiday village is being built - but you don't hear or see any of this from the main hotel so it will not affect your holiday.
Great hotel for couples and families alike - good mix of different nationalities there too.
And they were showing the World Cup on satellite TV too!!!!
thrilled to return

a wonderful resort, lots of facilities, beautiful villas and rooms in superb maintained gardens. Although lots of construction works around, no noise and not at all disturbing.
We loved the buggies moving around all the time and always helpful to give you a lift and bring you to the place you want as the resort is huge .
We prefer this emirate rather than Dubai or Abu Dhabi because the air is pure, the sky is blue and the water has a nice turquois colour, Al Hamra has a huge beach, much better than the small and hectic beaches of the hotels in Dubai. The sun is always out ...this is not always the case in Dubai where the sky is very much polluated
It is becoming our second homeplace !
Excellen resort

Excellent resort for a quiet holiday, the accomodation is a very high standard with multiple restaurants, we had our kids 3 & 6mths with us and we enjoyed the stay thoroughly. There is still quite a lot of construction going on but this is not invasive. Part of this construction is a new shopping centre complex which will add to the resort
Overall the trip was very good and would recommend it to anyone looking to unwind
really great place

"al hamra fort"
The most relaxing hotel in the world? Top service, stunningly large rooms, sea views ( Gulf), water so warm that the pool is actually cooled to make it swimmable!
Restaurants stunning, with themed buffet nights every night, indian, chinese, seafood etc... Best water sports Ive ever experienced on the hotel's own massive lagoon.

TOURIST INFO ABOUT U.A.E especially RAK!
by britesparkles
Going in July to the Al Hamra Fort Beach Resort in Ras Al Khaimah! What is the hotel like? We are going on a desert safari, visiting Dubai, Wild Wadi Water Park and we were thinking about going to Abu Dhabi, what is Abu Dhabi like? What is security like in U.A.E?

Hi again :-)
The hotel is very nice. You'll like it.
The surrounding natural beauty of RAK is its main attraction.
Wild Wadi is great fun. Another, larger & cheaper water park can be found in Umm Al Quwain: Dreamland AquaPark.
Abu Dhabi is the capital of the UAE, but I don't find it very interesting to be honest. It's mostly a "business-city". In general, I find that Dubai has the sights and the "action", and Sharjah has the culture and history.
Crime is on the rise; that's unavoidable in such a booming city, but nevertheless the UAE is still one of the safest countries in the world. As a woman, exercise the usual caution & safety measures (no dark alleys, no car-rides from strangers, etc.)

Good summing up by Jess. I wouldn't bother with Abu Dhabi, there's much more to enjoy elsewhere.
While you're at Wild Wadi visit Souk Madinat Jumeirah which is next door.
