Ard al-Janatayn: It's quiet. Too quiet.
A fairly large- two wings arranged over two floors- modern hotel built to cater to tourists, this is the cheap place to stay in Marib.
Peas in a drum, my guide, my driver and I had the place to ourselves. Never makes a place seem cheerful. And generally the place had a depressing air of neglect and hopelessness hanging over it: built in anticipation of better times that, sadly, haven't materialised.
Perfectly adequate as a place to stay, but nothing more.
