In old city

Set in old town, it is an old house converted in hotel.
The rooms are of variable size. Some with ensuite facilites but most not.
But it needs more attention to details (bad maintenance) apart from the ambience.
The personnel is very kind but management is rather impersonal and bad mannered. We asked the receptionist if we could stay a bit longer as we were flying late at night free of charge and he agreed. Later on he said that despite we wanted to stay only for 7 hours extra the manager wanted to charge full night (60$). We complained and the receptionist said that if we were not going to pay then the manager will charge him the 60$. This was a total blackmale and we finally agreed to pay half. If we only knew we wouldn't have asked for this favor!!

A More Expensive Tourist Hotel

We didn't stay here, but did take a look around. It is right across from the Taj Talha. New, well furnished in an original 7 story family residence. Nice restaurant on the ground floor, with outdoor seating. Rooftop viewing area. Hotel staff will help plan a tour for you. Prices: Double $35 with common bath, Suite $50 with private bath, Large suite: $85. Beautifully furnished.
