 An average comfortable establishment. For convenience, it is situated almost in the middle of the only major road in town where many Federal government buildings are situated and where the four larger non international hotels are all within 2000m of one another. Hotel location is not important in Inuvik as basically you have just the one street, Mackenzie Road with Inuvik’s one and only traffic light at town center, and you can walk from the end of the road to the other in about 20mins.

Although they are suites they are not that much more luxurious than many hotel rooms and therefore for the future, I would probably go for either the Mackenzie hotel or the newer Nova. Certainly the former has a good atmosphere with it very sizable bar and dining area neither of which does the Capital Suites have. this does not however really present a problem, as it is only 5 mins walk from one to another so both breakfast and dinner can be had at the Mackenzie and then walked off going back to the Suites which may be daunting in minus 70 chill factor in the winter!.

Basically I would regard this establishment as a good businessman’s hotel.
