Rayuka Inn: Unbelievably friendly!

The inn/hotel itself is little run down but everything is there in terms of clean linen and rooms. They dropped off a drip coffee machine and some of the rooms had microwaves. This is a budget accommodation and expectations should be matched to that.

The TV signal, should you be a TV fanatic, was fuzzy and only had the standard approximately 40-odd channels.

The food is available via a diner and, while tasty and good quantities, does not pretend to be a fancy restaurant.

All in all, I highly recommend them as a place to stay should you be stuck in Norman Wells either before or after a trip.

We spent two nights here. Larry & Carla, the owners of the inn, were simply amazing. Larry collected us from the airport, took us on a short sight-seeing/orientation trip of the town (it's very small) and then delivered us to the hotel. The next day, they loaned us their own bicycles so we could cycle around and explore the town a bit more. Today, our last day, they gave us the keys to their shuttle bus so we could get around a bit more quickly. All this without even a murmur of a charge. Simply incredible. On top of that, they cooked us a simple lunch and didn't charge us. The chocolate brownie dessert, btw, was very good!

So... on balance, I cheerfully recommend the Rayuka folk on the basis of their amazing hospitality and generosity.

Mackenzie Valley Hotel.: Don't judge a book by it's cover....

The Hotel does not look like much from the exterior. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The room was two rooms made into one - pretty big! Comfortable bed. Satelitte TV. Fridge. Desk to work. Futon for additional roommates (?). The Hotel was very comfortable. There's a restaurant on-site, too. The staff is SO friendly. I recommend this Hotel for others to stay.
While my room was paid for by work - I know that the price was less than others in town. Check it out!

Close to the Airport - well, this is relative, really. EVERYTHING IS CLOSE TO EVERYTHING!! The Wells is PRETTY SMALL!! Still, this is the closest hotel around.

Yamouri Inn: Pete's Pride

Not many hotels in Norman Wells. This one at least is right down town with restaurant and bar close by: 2 mins! Rooms are being upgraded to a quaint country look. Owner is hospitable and staff willing to recommend activities.

Great view of the Franklin Mountains from the Yamouri Porch! Microwave, fridge and coffee maker in every room of the hotel.
