Hill Island Motel: only motel on this island
The motel is in the town of Lansdowne. It is very nicely renovated and looks much like the better American motels.
For $80 (US) you get twin beds, non-smoking (very important), in-room coffee, free breakfast.
Desk, chair, TV; clean and no smell (you may want to ask for a room that did not have pets previously); nice bathroom with shower.
Next to the lobby, is the dining room and bar (there was no entertainment during the days we were there but the brochure listed ones during the holiday weekends).
There is a community lodge on the premises and this is where the swiming pool is located along with some "senior" activities (shuffle board, horseshoes, picnic tables). Some easy-to-walk nature trails are alongside the lodge for a pleasant stroll. A souvenier gift shop is also nearby.
The motel offers extended stay packages with casino and sightseeing activities included at reduced prices. (see the website below)
