Really quite a nice hotel especially for me who does not stay in hotels like this often. The facade of the building is nothing compared to the interior. Built in 1931 by CN Railway, it's elegance still stands. My favourite part was the bathroom, it was the part of the room that seemed to take you back in time the most. There is free internet access down in the lobby and free internet access in the rooms. There is a bar/restaurant, indoor pool, whrilpool, sauna, fitness room and a roof top patio. Rates are $158-237 Canadian and off season rates are available, my room was $100 a night.
Had a very nice stay here recently, while in town for a three-day business meeting. The staff at the reception desk were very helpful with providing directions, and making suggestions of places to eat around town.
The room was clean, and made up daily. The hotel has been around for many years (built in 1932), but the rooms are modern. My room had a fridge (not stocked, which I prefer anyway), coffee maker, cable TV, iron and ironing board, and there were a variety of toiletries in the bathroom. The shower provided a strong flow of water.
I've included pics of my room, pool area, and fitness center.
The hotel has a reception room on the main floor, a restaurant, bar, pool, sauna, whirlpool, and a fitness center.
I didn't eat in the hotel restaurant, the Chambers Restaurant & Bar, only because there were so many interesting eating spots around downtown to explore... all within walking distance.
