Banff Ptarmigan Inn

Very comfortable hotel in the main street so central to all the shops etc.

Had a restaurant and bar
Internet Access in reception
Rooms had all facilities
Service was excellent

View into courtyard - doesn't
do justice!

We enjoyed a very large room with two double beds. The room had TV - I think that there were movie channels.... who wants to watch a movie while in Banff?!? Anyway - it's available. There is a coffee maker available if you desire. Very clean room. Large bathroom, too, with a shower. Hair dryer!
We also had a balcony looking into a central courtyard. Beautiful. Least expensive place to stay in Banff.

While the Bumper's Inn is noted as only being a place to rest your head, as mentioned - there is a beautiful courtyard to enjoy in the center. Plus, one may sit on their balcony (especially wonderful first thing in the morning with a cup of coffee). It's also right on the edge of town - so, the forest is right out your door.

Driftwood Inn

We stayed here for 2 nights. The people at the front desk were friendly and very quick during check-in and check-out. Although we got a small room, I was pleased with the decor and cleanliness. The bed was very comfortable...more comfortable than I would expect from a hotel bed. We didn't have any problems at all. We were looking for somewhere cheap to stay while we were in Banff, and this was the cheapest place we could find. It was nicer than I expected for what the price was. The hand soap in the bathroom was also very nice :) The only bad thing about the Drfitwood Inn was that the shower was very high pressure.

Mount Royal Hotel

This Heritage Hotel has a lot of history , it opened for business in the spring of 1908. The hotel was originally called the Banff Hotel,and started with 60 rooms and a spacious Dining room and a billiard room.The hotel was owned by Dave and Annie Mc Dougall of Morley Alberta.
In 1912 .Then Jim Brewster of the famous Brewster family took over the Hotel for $75.000 dollar ,and after many improvements and added 50 additional rooms and an elevator. After a fire burned down the old wing of the Hotel ,after that the Mount Royal has become a good Hotel and has become well known.

Lori & Red Carpet inn

Nice hotel with indoor Pool and Spa , good facilities ,Parking is not to great.
Good location better price off season.

Saturday, June 7. After a very busy day driving from Jasper on the Icefields Parkway, we decided to stay overnight again in Banff. My first choice the Red Carpet Inn was fully booked, so we checked in at the BANFF VOYAGER INN". It was also a great location, walking distance to downtown and close to shops and restaurants. The price was $81.00 plus taxes ($90.72).

Sunshine Village

Great skiing right at your doorstep, tonnes of snow, great food and a very busy resort.

You have to enjoy the outdoor hot tub. It is very refreshing to be out in the fresh rocky mountain air in the middle of winter, in a hot tub, when it is snowing and your aloud to bring a bottle of wine along.

Very romantic and life couldn't be better.

The RED CARPET INNwas a great location, just walking distance to downtown Banff. Our room was spacious, with queen size bed and full size bathroom and plenty of space to put your suitcases. The lobby staff were friendly and courteous. We paid the low season price of $75.00 plus taxes.($84.00). CAA AAA AARP & CARP Discounts apply.

Very Grand Place and very expensive to stay
Government officials, Premiers from all countries have their conferences there and the rich and famous stay in the grand rooms.

Unfortunately we could only view this hotel. Looks lovely in the snow

This hostel is rated Top 10 out of 5,000 hostels worldwide in the Hostelling International network and there's a good reason for it, it's a wonderful place to stay! You can stay in private rooms or in the dorms - the dorms are very clean and comfortable. You can choose to cook your own meals in one of the two kitchens or enjoy a meal at Cougar Pete's, the hostel's Pub/Restaurant. It's located within walking distance of downtown Banff and nothing quite compares to sitting on the hostel's patio after a full day of hiking or skiing!!
