Charlton's Cedar Court

I reserved a loft room from Expedia for $150 a night. A bargain for Banff where expensive hotels are the norm. The hotel website is good and the photos on the site are accurate.

Location is on Banff Avenue about 10-15 minutes walk from the downtown area. There is public transportation (bus) running along Banff avenue if the walk downtown is too much for you.

The room was clean, very comfortable and spacious. Cable TV with nintendo ability. There are also rooms with kitchenettes and other setups. I found the loft very nice, would gladly stay here again. The downstairs was real nice, more compact than the photos indicate, but still very comfortable and well lit. The loft upstairs gave the impression of much larger space. The bed was large and comfortable and I did sleep very well at this hotel.

Breakfast at the time was served at another hotel from the same chain(less than 5 minute walk). You were given a voucher, No problem at all with having the voucher accepted.

Unique Quality: Service was outstanding. Reservation made through Expedia was just fine. Received a very warm welcome. Front desk service and housekeeping are especially good at this hotel.

There is a pool and hot tub. There is internet access (coin operated) near the reception area. There is no on-site restaurant but plenty of places to eat within easy walking distance.

It has a nice view, especially after freshly fallen snow! However, the view from the hotel rooms themselves, most of the rooms face a courtyard, so don't pay too much extra for a view.

The ironing board was a nice touch, as well as the coffee maker and newspaper.
