The Worst In Banff

Terrible (1.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on October 16, 2003

This horrible 'resort' is nothing more than a grouping of over-priced wooden cabins right next door to an over-crowded tourist hiking spot.

Some staff at the dining room were friendly enough, but management was horrible and slightly...ahem...incompetent.

Unique Quality: Rooms: Unclean, crowded, tacky, and drafty.
Grounds: Looked like someone had run through with a chainsaw.
Gift Shop: Crowded with tourists and overpriced...nothing new in Banff.
Snack Bar: Friendly staff, but dirty, and the food was terrible and never to order. Cooks could always be heard complaining about food orders.
Dining Room: "Mom and Pop Shop" comes to mind. Over-priced, and infested with mice, flies, mosquitoes, and run-of-the-mill food thats passed off as 'gourmet'.

Directions: Right next to the Johnston Canyon hiking trail and across from the Johnston Canyon campgrounds.

We heard this review was from someone who got terminated from the resort because they were caught stealing tips from their co-workers.... go figure...a poor attempt at bogus retaliation.

It appears odder that someone would write such a reply below our posted comment as the bogus review is still online and there is no indication on the front page when it was written. When we saw the review we inquired about it,and as a service to our fellow travelers who may be seeing the fabricated review for the first time we provided the truth...... pretty straightforward.

I saw your comment on the 'new comments' page, which is visible to everyone whether VT member or not. There is nothing odd about that. The date of the review can be seen if you look at it on the relevant member's page. The review will, of course, remain online as do all pages, tips and reviews written by VT members. If you have evidence that this review is 'bogus' then I suggest you write to staff at feedback@virtualtourist.com and give them the relevant information.
