Great place to stay!
by TripAdvisor Member Tarheelsforme
WE just returned from Jasper and Patricia Lake. We loved the place! There was a play ground for the kids but they had as much fun skipping rocks in the beautiful lake. We even came in late one night and found four elk having a snack! The front desk lady kept the laundry open a little later to give us a chance to wash clothes. We will return and stay longer next time.
Beautiful little spot; prettiest in Jasper.

We stayed here with our two girls for three nights and it was such a beautiful location. After driving around the town, we found that it was one of the prettiest locations, compared to the other hotels. The 4-5km drive to the bungalows from the town is well worth it--we always saw some kind of wildlife going to/from PLB!
The rooms are rustic but very nice. It was so great having a kitchen and refrigerator to use. We also appreciated the laundry facilities, as we had another week of traveling left to do, and our clothes needed to be cleaned!
We didn't care for the water and recommend buying a big bottle of water from the local store. It wouldn't keep me from returning, though...we loved this place!
What did we miss?
by TripAdvisor Member SABL
My husband and I stayed at the Patricia Lake Bungalows after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, which has always been an excellent guide. I keep asking myself, "What did I miss that warranted the rave reviews?" Yes, the setting is beautiful. The grounds and cabin were immaculate, but the cabin was dark and not very attractive or comfortable inside. The bedroom was very small with no nightstands to put the basic necessities needed at night. The bathroom was also very tiny and again not laid out for comfort. The mirror was to the left of the sink, which made it awkward for my husband to shave. On the plus side, I think it would be a great place for families, and the staff was friendly and helpful; but we will definitely stay somewhere else when we return to Jasper.
Wonderful getaway

On our way out to Victoria from Edmonton we decided to spend a night in Jasper. From this website we chose the Patricia Lake Bungalows and we loved it. It was only for the one night but we wish we could have stayed longer. Such a peaceful beautiful setting and a cute little cottage. The kids thought our new little "house" was so cool. The little kitchenette was handy and the view from our window, gorgeous. The beds were so comfortable and our only complaint besides not being able to stay longer was the TV was small and we could have used some more channels. We will definetly be going back for a weekend getaway. It was great for a family and if your an outdoor enthusiast it's perfect. I also thought it would be a great honeymoon spot.
Fun place outside of town-great for families
by TripAdvisor Member Isla_Wilder
This was a nice surprise! The Bungalows are located right on the shores of Patricia Lake in a removed area from town. There were 5 Elk in yard our the first night!
The bungalows are clean and very comfortable, but are close to one another. Breakfast is also not included so make a stop at the grocery store. Plan on bringing your own water, the water out of the taps is just treated lake water and doesn't taste so good (but still works for coffee).
This would be a nice place to stay with kids because there are so many things to do in and around Jasper and even at the resort itself!
A victim of its own Success

We stayed here based on the rave reviews at this site. However, the excellent reviews it received caused the prices here to skyrocket to the point where it was a big disappointment. For $125 CAN it would have been a cute, if rustic location. Howeve, we were charged $251 CAN for a cramped, dark little bungalow and we felt terribly disappointed. The bathroom was small and poorly organized, there was a shortage of lights and electrical outlets. The beds were only so-so in comfort. Although it was clean, the absence of furniture made it very simple to clean.
The outside decor looked like Disney attempting to imitate the Swiss Alps. Should the price come down, it would be worth a stay-However, for this price, Becker's Chalet, where our friends stayed, is a far better deal.
Relaxing Time

We stayed here for four nights. It was a refreshing change from the hotels we had previously stayed in. It was a the most quiet and relaxing 4 days of our holiday to Canada.
The bungalows were clean and the staff great.
We much preferred Jasper to Banff - a lot less tourists and not as tacky. We just wish we had stayed in Jasper longer.
Great Place to Stay

We found Patricia Lake Bungalows using "Accomodations in Alberta" and the internet. Since we've never been to the Canadian Rockies before, we felt this was taking a chance when we booked with Patricia Lake Bungalows, even though most of the reviews we read were positive.
What we found was beyond our highest hopes and expectations!. We stayed in Lakefront Cottage #5 and had beautiful views of the lake by looking out the windows of our cottage. The lake was usually calm and was like a mirror reflecting its beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed watching the sunsets from the dock, and the mist rising off the lake in the morning. The quiet and calm was such a relief from our normally busy lives!
The cottage was clean and the staff friendly and very willing to take care of our needs. Every evening, a staff member knocked on our door to ask if we needed more coffe or tea, towels, soap, or anything else. The kitchen was stocked with the basics, everything one needed to make a meal, but we only made breakfast in the mornings and enjoyed the peace and quiet in such a beautiful setting.
We hope to return within the next several years, but will definitely make plans to stay longer. Patricia Lake Bungalows was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature before we had to return home.
Impressed

My family stayed here four nights between July 20th and July 24th in cabin 12, and were very impressed.
We paid $165 per night for the room. For this we got a large room containing a King sized bed, which incidentally was the most comfortable bed we sleep in throughout our stay in Canada, plus cooking facilities (Cooker/fridge etc), plus comfy chair, and dinning table and chairs. There was also a separate bedroom with a queen sized bed, and an adequate bathroom containing a shower, but no bath.
Outside the cabin there is a Picnic table plus two wooden chairs, plus space to park your car.
What makes Patricia Lake Bungalows special is the staff and the care that has been taken to landscape the grounds. The staff were excellent. The cabin was cleaned each day and what really impressed me was the fact that they came round each evening to check everything was OK, and see if we needed anything.
The onsite facilities were good given the size of the operation. We used the laundry facilities, and rented a canoe which we used on the beautiful lake next to the resort.
The Bungalows are located about 3 miles outside of Jasper, near enough to easily get to, but far enough away to retain the peace and quiet that makes this place a pleasure to stay at.
nice place to stay outside of town

a very nice place to stay - it's outside of jasper, so you get away from noise of town - it's a beautiful setting right on the lake - cabins were clean and comfortable - staff was extremely helpful - in fact we had a fireplace problem late at night and they came immediately and cheerfully to fix it - we didn't take advantage of everything that was there, it was a rainy nite we stayed - but they have a hot tub, trails outside your door, boats, etc. - i wish we had another night to really enjoy the place - maybe next time
