Talk About Spacious
When we finally fronted up just after 6 PM, following our long but very enjoyable drive from Cold Lake on the lesser known highways of the province, the desk clerk said that they did not have any double rooms left. As a result, we were being upgraded to a Suite at no extra cost (which was US$114 per night including all taxes).
Unique Quality: Indeed it was a suite! We had a full kitchen, dining room and a large living room with a big TV and a VCR in it. In addition, we had two bedrooms each with their own TV as well as a separate bathroom.
The room rate also included a continental breakfast of toast, cereal, juices and coffee. Parking included both underground or above ground choices - I ended up finding a spot for our rental car above ground without any problems.
The great thing was, this place was only three blocks from my daughter's single bedroom apartment. It made it very convenient in the evenings to just leave the car behind and walk down for some socializing!

Very Handy Location!
On our September, 2004 trip, we were very late booking our accommodations in Calgary, because of various things going on with the schedules of our two daughters living in Alberta. In the end, because we went to Cold Lake at the beginning of our trip, it was only on a Sunday night that I called around in Calgary to see if anyone had a room open for four nights, starting on Monday! After a failure on the first location I tried, the Best Western Suites rode to the rescue in cowboy style, and said that they had a double for us (see next Tip)!

A great place to stay would be...
A great place to stay would be the Best Western in downtown Calgary.
Depending on the season and what type of room you select effects the price. I stayed for around 90 US dollars.
Unique Quality: The location is great for visitors because it is so close to all attractions and it's in the downtown area so you feel special.
