The Gopher is a small animal that usually resides in farmer's fields but will adapt easily to any green area. Especially by roadsides and in park in the city.The sign on the paved bike path is a warning that the path may be uneven or have pot holes as a result of gophers digging new tunnels for their living quarters.
The combined bike and walking paths extend more than 400 kms within the city limits. Generally in park areas and alongside both rivers and the one major lake in the city, they permit us all to get out and be active all year round. Some of the paths are cleared of snow to allow bikers inparticular to commute to work.
