You continue through Lethbridge down Highway 4 for another 70 miles.
If you open Google Maps ( http://maps.google.ca/ )put in the following for search:
Coutts, AB, Canada

Hii puerto_lover,

I am looking for a public transport, e.g. bus or taxi service, from Calgary to Coutts. Pl. respond.

A.

I am pretty sure Greyhound has stopped that service. A taxi may be the only 'public' service

There is no Greyhound Service any longer between Lethbridge to the US Border, only between Lethbridge and Calgary. (see www.greyhound.ca for full details). You are looking at a taxi from Lethbridge to the Coutts border. If you are a small group check out Airport Shuttle Express - Calgary which operates charter vans from Calgary to any destination in Montana, including the Sweetgrass/Coutts border station: http://www.airportshuttleexpress.com/

Travel Tips for Calgary

Skiing and Snowboarding

by thiessen

Anyone that comes to Calgary, must go to the mountains for as long as possible. You can ski/snowboard, hike, camp, shop, fish or pretty much anything you can think of. There are not a lot of people in Canada, this means you can find places with absolutely no people. The landscape in the fall is Beautiful. All the colors will blow you away. I always miss the uncrowded places when I travel.

Trolley cars and highrises

by mht_in_la

With its proximity to the Rockies, Calgary is a blend of grand natural wonders and sophiscated urban life. Here in downtown you'll see many highrises and trolley cars (actually the train goes beyond downtown). After days in the wild, I felt like a city folk again when I arrived Calgary.

Well dressed walkers when it is -25C in Calgary

by dabidc

It is possible to walk and to work when the temperatire reaches minus25 C. When the sun shines then it is all the better, at least it feels fresh. Be warned dress warmly and beware if there is a wind, then the Wind Chill Factor has to be accounted for. It is much easier to suffer from hypothermia, when the wind blows and also when you are not dressed well enough.

DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE EFFECT OF THE WINTER CONDITIONS IN CANADA.

Packing List

by Helen196

If you're skiiing or boarding you have no choice but to take a big bag for your warm clothes, and if you have your own equipment then you're doubly weighed down! Take a rucksack with some nibbles and some water in for when you're up a mountain far from a restaurant. See Andorra for boarding gear. Be warned - skiiing in Europe isn't half as cold as being up on Lookout Mountain when the snow comes down - I didn't dress warm enough and I was f***ing freeeeeeezing!!!! Cold & Flu remedies! They're all a bit strange in Canada and when you go into a supermarket you can spend an hour just looking for something that'll make you feel better coz if it's not in French, it'll be called something completely different to what it is in England! Digital cameras are great! We took a laptop with us and we took as many photo's as we could and downloaded them every night. This was you can get rid of all the crappy pictures and keep the good ones. Invest in a quality camera though-ours was rubbish as it didn't take very good quality pictures.

A Ride to Remember

by penumbra

With snow on the ground and sun in the sky, every kid’s heart turns to tobogganing. What greater joy than hurtling downhill on a metal/plastic/wood sheet intent on going as far and as fast as possible. Looking for a good safe hill? The hill near the Richmond Green Golf Course is high and steep enough to be exciting but runs out into what is a baseball field during the summer so is fairly safe. Just watch out for the other sliders and you should have a great day.
