T&T Supermarket, i believe this is a chain supermarket in western Canada as I have seen them in Vancouver also.

T&T Supermarket is an Asian supermarket carrying hard to find Asian food products and housewares. Customers can purchase fresh pre-packaged sushi, fresh fish and meat from the in-store butcher, fresh produce, packaged foods and bakery items that are made daily.

Can Fun looks like a small warehouse store. As Tuff mentioned T&T is a LARGE Chinese Grocery store, very well stocked. Here is their website, language options.

Travel Tips for Calgary

Great reflections & recollections

by scottishvisitor

Looking back on our trip I really liked Calgary - maybe because of the great excitement and anticipation of the Stampede by the many visitors but I think for us it was a special place because of its open friendly welcome and all the fun to be had down town===Ye Ha!! I enjoyed sharing Calgary with the many tourists from across the world and the locals alike.
I will miss seeing such a mix of people walking in the streets especially the ones in suit and ties who smiled broadly and said "Hi Guys How ya doin?"

Don't say the "E" word...

For many years, Calgarians and Edmontonians have had a sort of rivalry. Although they are only 21/2 hours apart and looking as an outsider probably seem very similar, when the Calgarians hear you went to Edmonton or live there, there is always a sneer or snide remark...and vice versa. I think it started with the Hockey teams, Flames and Oilers, and just escalated from there. Although it is mostly in clean fun, be careful of singing Edmonton's praises in the company of Canadians. you may find yourself starting a riot...

Greetings and salutations....

Lately, we have adopted a new custom in Calgary...apparently, you are not allowed to partake in conversations without mentioning the Calgary Flames at least once, wearing a flames jersey, or signing off all emails or convos with "Go Flames"..I think they are working on a bill to make it the law...it is quickly overshadowing the "eh" terminology...

What to pack for Calgary/Banff

by mishadawn

Winter:

Calgary does not generally get a lot of snow because of the chinook weather patterns, however, the following might come in handy!

- heavy coat with hood or a touque for your head

- mitts/ gloves for your hands

- warm winter boots with good grip for walking on snow and ice

Summer:

It is generally warm to hot. Dress in layers.

- shorts
- t-shirts/tank tops
- pants
- fleece for evening (it cools off ) Toiletries are readily available at all grocery and drug stores. Super Drug Mart and The Real Canadian Superstore are less expensive. Canada Safeway grocerty store is generally most expensive. Cheapest places to get film developed:

Walmart
The Real Canadian Superstore
Costco (need a membership) The best place to buy these items is MEC - Mountain Equipment Coop. You do need to have a membership - very cheap to join and well worth it!

A Sticky Wicket

Cricket is almost unknown in Calgary but the Calgary and District Cricket League has been playing for over 100 years. The 300 members play at Riley Park on weekends from late May to September. Admission is free but bring your own seat unless you’d prefer to sit on the grass.
